HOMILY: “THE SEVEN QUESTIONS OF THE RESURRECTED CHRIST”
________________________________________
1. Introduction
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Today we are not just celebrating that Jesus is risen…
We are standing before the Risen Lord who is still speaking.
After His Resurrection, Jesus did not give long teachings.
Instead, He asked questions.
Because a question:
👉 enters the heart,
👉 disturbs our comfort,
👉 and demands a personal response.
Today, those same questions are coming to us.
Let us not listen casually…
Let us listen as if:
👉 Jesus Himself is standing here and speaking to us.

2. Spiritual Diagnosis

1. “Why are you weeping?” (John 20:15)
My dear brothers and sisters,
Let us go to the tomb early in the morning.
Mary Magdalene is there…
The stone is rolled away.
The tomb is empty.
Angels are present.
And still… she is crying.
Why?
Because she thinks Jesus is still dead.
She is standing in front of the greatest victory in history…
But she is living as if nothing has changed.
Even when Jesus Himself stands before her,
she does not recognize Him.

Now listen carefully.
This is not just Mary’s story.
👉 This is our story.
How many times we say:
• “My life is finished…”
• “There is no hope…”
• “Nothing will change…”
But the truth is:
👉 Christ is already risen.
👉 Victory has already been won.
________________________________________
So Jesus asks:
👉 “Why are you weeping?”
Not because He does not know…
But because He wants her to realize:
👉 Her sorrow is not matching reality.
________________________________________
My dear brothers and sisters,
Today Jesus is asking you:
👉 Why are you still crying
when I have already conquered death?
________________________________________
👉 “Do not live as if Christ is still in the tomb—He is risen.”

2. “Whom are you seeking?” (John 20:15)
In the same moment, Jesus asks another question.
👉 “Whom are you seeking?”
Mary is searching…
But she is searching for a dead body.
She is looking in the tomb…
But Jesus is no longer there.
________________________________________
My dear people,
This is a very deep truth.
Sometimes we are also searching…
But we are searching in the wrong way.
• We come to God for blessings
• We come for solutions
• We come for help
But we do not come for:
👉 Jesus Himself
________________________________________
Mary wanted to see Jesus…
But she wanted to see Him as He was before.
She did not yet understand:
👉 He is alive… He is transformed… He is present in a new way.
________________________________________
So Jesus asks:
👉 “Whom are you seeking?”
________________________________________
Today He is asking you:
👉 Are you seeking:
• Only blessings?
• Only solutions?
Or:
👉 Are you seeking the living Christ?
________________________________________
👉 “If you truly find Christ, you will not need anything else.”

3. “What are you talking about?” (Luke 24:17)
Now let us go to the road to Emmaus.
Two disciples are walking away from Jerusalem.
Jerusalem is the place where:
👉 Jesus died…
👉 Jesus rose…
👉 Salvation was fulfilled.
But they are walking away from it.
Why?
Because they are disappointed.
________________________________________
They are talking to each other…
Discussing everything that happened.
And Jesus comes near them and asks:
👉 “What are you talking about?”
________________________________________
They say:
👉 “We had hoped…”
Listen to that.
👉 “We had hoped…”
Their hope is in the past.
They believed Jesus would save Israel…
But when they saw the Cross,
they thought:
👉 “Everything is over.”
________________________________________
Their problem was not that they did not know Jesus…
Their problem was:
👉 They did not understand the meaning of the Cross.
________________________________________
And their conversation shows their heart.
• Confusion
• Sadness
• Broken hope
________________________________________
So Jesus asks:
👉 “What are you talking about?”
Because:
👉 What you speak reveals what you believe.
________________________________________
Today Jesus is asking us:
👉 What fills your conversations?
• Fear?
• Complaints?
• Negativity?
Or:
👉 Faith… hope… trust?
________________________________________
👉 “Your words reveal your faith—speak life, not fear.”

4. “Are not these things foretold in the Scriptures?” (Luke 24:26)
Now Jesus corrects them.
He tells them:
👉 “Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer and then enter His glory?”
Then He begins to explain Scripture.
From Moses…
From the prophets…
He shows them:
👉 The Cross was not failure.
👉 It was God’s plan.
________________________________________
This is very important.
The disciples saw the Cross and said:
👉 “Everything is over.”
But Scripture says:
👉 “Everything is fulfilled.”
________________________________________
The problem was not the situation…
👉 The problem was their understanding.
________________________________________
Today also:
When suffering comes,
we say:
👉 “God has abandoned me.”
But God’s Word says:
👉 “I am with you.”
