Summary: Risen Lord who is still speaking.

HOMILY: “THE SEVEN QUESTIONS OF THE RESURRECTED CHRIST”

________________________________________

1. Introduction

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Today we are not just celebrating that Jesus is risen…

We are standing before the Risen Lord who is still speaking.

After His Resurrection, Jesus did not give long teachings.

Instead, He asked questions.

Because a question:

👉 enters the heart,

👉 disturbs our comfort,

👉 and demands a personal response.

Today, those same questions are coming to us.

Let us not listen casually…

Let us listen as if:

👉 Jesus Himself is standing here and speaking to us.

2. Spiritual Diagnosis

________________________________________

1. “Why are you weeping?” (John 20:15)

My dear brothers and sisters,

Let us go to the tomb early in the morning.

Mary Magdalene is there…

The stone is rolled away.

The tomb is empty.

Angels are present.

And still… she is crying.

Why?

Because she thinks Jesus is still dead.

She is standing in front of the greatest victory in history…

But she is living as if nothing has changed.

Even when Jesus Himself stands before her,

she does not recognize Him.

________________________________________

Now listen carefully.

This is not just Mary’s story.

👉 This is our story.

How many times we say:

• “My life is finished…”

• “There is no hope…”

• “Nothing will change…”

But the truth is:

👉 Christ is already risen.

👉 Victory has already been won.

________________________________________

So Jesus asks:

👉 “Why are you weeping?”

Not because He does not know…

But because He wants her to realize:

👉 Her sorrow is not matching reality.

________________________________________

My dear brothers and sisters,

Today Jesus is asking you:

👉 Why are you still crying

when I have already conquered death?

________________________________________

👉 “Do not live as if Christ is still in the tomb—He is risen.”

________________________________________

2. “Whom are you seeking?” (John 20:15)

In the same moment, Jesus asks another question.

👉 “Whom are you seeking?”

Mary is searching…

But she is searching for a dead body.

She is looking in the tomb…

But Jesus is no longer there.

________________________________________

My dear people,

This is a very deep truth.

Sometimes we are also searching…

But we are searching in the wrong way.

• We come to God for blessings

• We come for solutions

• We come for help

But we do not come for:

👉 Jesus Himself

________________________________________

Mary wanted to see Jesus…

But she wanted to see Him as He was before.

She did not yet understand:

👉 He is alive… He is transformed… He is present in a new way.

________________________________________

So Jesus asks:

👉 “Whom are you seeking?”

________________________________________

Today He is asking you:

👉 Are you seeking:

• Only blessings?

• Only solutions?

Or:

👉 Are you seeking the living Christ?

________________________________________

👉 “If you truly find Christ, you will not need anything else.”

________________________________________

3. “What are you talking about?” (Luke 24:17)

Now let us go to the road to Emmaus.

Two disciples are walking away from Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is the place where:

👉 Jesus died…

👉 Jesus rose…

👉 Salvation was fulfilled.

But they are walking away from it.

Why?

Because they are disappointed.

________________________________________

They are talking to each other…

Discussing everything that happened.

And Jesus comes near them and asks:

👉 “What are you talking about?”

________________________________________

They say:

👉 “We had hoped…”

Listen to that.

👉 “We had hoped…”

Their hope is in the past.

They believed Jesus would save Israel…

But when they saw the Cross,

they thought:

👉 “Everything is over.”

________________________________________

Their problem was not that they did not know Jesus…

Their problem was:

👉 They did not understand the meaning of the Cross.

________________________________________

And their conversation shows their heart.

• Confusion

• Sadness

• Broken hope

________________________________________

So Jesus asks:

👉 “What are you talking about?”

Because:

👉 What you speak reveals what you believe.

________________________________________

Today Jesus is asking us:

👉 What fills your conversations?

• Fear?

• Complaints?

• Negativity?

Or:

👉 Faith… hope… trust?

________________________________________

👉 “Your words reveal your faith—speak life, not fear.”

________________________________________

4. “Are not these things foretold in the Scriptures?” (Luke 24:26)

Now Jesus corrects them.

He tells them:

👉 “Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer and then enter His glory?”

Then He begins to explain Scripture.

From Moses…

From the prophets…

He shows them:

👉 The Cross was not failure.

👉 It was God’s plan.

________________________________________

This is very important.

The disciples saw the Cross and said:

👉 “Everything is over.”

But Scripture says:

👉 “Everything is fulfilled.”

________________________________________

The problem was not the situation…

👉 The problem was their understanding.

________________________________________

Today also:

When suffering comes,

we say:

👉 “God has abandoned me.”

But God’s Word says:

👉 “I am with you.”

________________________________________

So Jesus is teaching:

👉 If you do not know Scripture,

you will misunderstand your life.

________________________________________

👉 “Without the Word, life is confusion—through the Word, life becomes clear.”

________________________________________

5. “Children, do you have any fish?” (John 21:5)

Now we go again to the sea.

The disciples return to fishing.

All night they work…

And catch nothing.

________________________________________

These are not beginners.

They are experienced fishermen.

Still:

👉 No result.

________________________________________

Then morning comes.

Jesus stands on the shore.

They do not recognize Him.

And He asks:

👉 “Children, do you have any fish?”

They answer:

👉 “No.”

________________________________________

My dear people,

That one word:

👉 “No”

Is very powerful.

It is the truth of life without Christ.

________________________________________

Then Jesus tells them:

👉 “Cast the net on the right side.”

And suddenly:

👉 Abundance.

________________________________________

What is the message?

👉 Without Christ ? emptiness

👉 With Christ ? fruitfulness

________________________________________

Today Jesus is asking you:

👉 In your life… do you have anything?

• Peace?

• Joy?

• Fulfillment?

Or is it empty?

________________________________________

👉 “Without Christ, even success feels empty—with Christ, even little becomes enough.”

________________________________________

6. “Do you love Me?” (John 21:15)

Now Jesus turns to Peter.

The same Peter who denied Him three times.

________________________________________

Jesus does not ask:

• “Why did you fail?”

• “Why did you betray Me?”

Instead, He asks:

👉 “Do you love Me?”

And He asks it three times.

________________________________________

Why?

Because Peter denied three times.

Now Jesus restores him three times.

________________________________________

My dear brothers and sisters,

This is the beauty of God’s mercy.

👉 God does not define you by your failure.

👉 He restores you through love.

________________________________________

After each answer, Jesus says:

👉 “Feed My sheep.”

That means:

👉 Love leads to mission.

________________________________________

Today Jesus is asking you:

👉 “Do you love Me?”

Not:

• “Are you perfect?”

But:

👉 “Do you love Me?”

________________________________________

👉 “Love for Christ can rebuild what sin has broken.”

________________________________________

7. “What is that to you? You follow Me.” (John 21:22)

Now listen carefully.

After restoring Peter, Jesus tells him:

👉 “You will suffer… you will glorify God.”

Peter hears this…

And immediately he looks at John and asks:

👉 “Lord… what about him?”

________________________________________

Do you see this?

Even after:

• Forgiveness

• Restoration

• Mission

Still:

👉 Comparison.

________________________________________

Jesus answers:

👉 “What is that to you?”

Meaning:

👉 “That is not your concern.”

👉 “That is not your calling.”

________________________________________

Then He says:

👉 “You follow Me.”

________________________________________

My dear brothers and sisters,

God has a different path for each person.

• One may suffer

• Another may rejoice

• One may struggle

• Another may succeed

But each one is:

👉 God’s plan.

________________________________________

The moment we compare:

👉 We lose peace

👉 We lose focus

👉 We lose our purpose

________________________________________

So today Jesus tells you:

👉 Do not compare your life

👉 Do not question others’ journey

👉 You follow Me

________________________________________

Preaching Line

👉 “Your calling is not to compare… your calling is to follow Christ faithfully.”

________________________________________

3. Conclusion

My dear brothers and sisters,

These seven questions are not just for the past.

They are for today.

Jesus is standing before you and asking:

👉 Why are you weeping?

👉 Whom are you seeking?

👉 What are you speaking?

👉 Do you understand My Word?

👉 Are you empty without Me?

👉 Do you love Me?

👉 Will you follow Me?

________________________________________

Do not leave without answering.

Because:

👉 Christ is risen…

👉 He is speaking…

👉 And your life can change today.

________________________________________

4. Prayer

Lord Jesus,

Risen and living among us,

Open our eyes to see You,

Open our hearts to love You,

Open our lives to follow You.

Remove our sorrow,

Fill our emptiness,

Strengthen our faith.

Lead us always in Your path.

Amen.
