He Knows Who You Are

1. What Good is it to Worry?

n “Worry” = to give way to anxiety or unease; allow one’s mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles.

n We have far too much to be thankful for to spend so much time in worry and anxiety.

n We must realize that we have a Heavenly Father we can trust who truly has our best interest in mind.

n “We need not worry; if we seek to let God reign in our lives, we can be sure that he will assume full responsibility for those wholly yielded to him” (FLSB).

n There is a dangerous flip-side to this however in that sometimes people go the other way and make no preparation at all.

n The problem with many people is that they are in a constant state of worry and panic about how things are versus how they believe they should be.

n Overwhelming and overriding fear and worry reveal a real lack of trust.

n We need to resign ourselves to the idea that there are some things in life that will always be a test for us and a challenge to our faith and belief. That doesn’t mean God is cruel, it means He is leading us and helping us to grow.

2. God is our Father and as such He is our Provider.

n God knows everything about us down to the most minute detail.

n God knows what we need even before we ask Him, and He is more than ready and willing to provide.

n To link to point 1 above, worry often kicks in when we get our needs and our wants mixed up or confused.

n God is a good Father. He has the best interest of His children in mind. He does not have plans to harm you or to destroy you.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

n If we believe God wants to give us a future, why would we ever worry that He is suddenly going to cut us off now?

n “Hope” = a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.

n Hope is a large part of what makes faith. We must understand that our Heavenly Father truly loves and cares for us and will provide for our needs.

3. Our Role is to Serve Him Faithfully and Seek Him Wholeheartedly.

n God has called us to be seekers of His Kingdom. When we put Him and His Kingdom first, everything else falls into line.

n The key to a true walk of faith is to learn to live in the moment that you have. There is nothing you can do to change your yesterdays. There is no way to know or predict what tomorrow will bring. What you have is RIGHT NOW. Faith lives right now. Faith lives in the moment.

n It is beneficial to us when we learn to seek and turn to God regardless of what is going on in our lives.

n If we learn this truth, our greatest trials could also be our greatest times of victory.

Robert Murray Mc Cheyne wrote this:

“Trials make the promise sweet,

Trials give new life to prayer;

Trials bring me to His feet,

Lay me low, and keep me there.”

WE MUST NEVER FORGET THE TRUTH THAT GOD KNOWS WHO WE ARE AND HE IS MINDFUL OF WHAT IS GOING ON IN OUR LIVES. HE IS NOT LOOKING TO HURT OR DESTROY US. HE ONLY WISHES TO FATHER US.
