He Cannot Lie. Series

God Is not a man; He cannot lie; therefore, whenever He speaks, obedience is the only expected response.

God has no limits or boundaries, and He can do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we can ask or think.

“…Hath, he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken and shall he not make it good.” (Numbers 23:19).

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth and all plants and animals both on land and in the waters.

God created all things with His words. The winds obeyed, the rocks obeyed, the waters and waves obeyed, and even the darkness obeyed.

Through faith, we understand how this was all done--God framed the world with His Word when He said, “Let there be,” and out of nothing, everything was created.

God said, “Let there be light.” And there was light. (Genesis 1:3).

When God made the promise to Abraham--“Surely blessing will I bless thee and multiplying I will multiply thee.” He swore by himself since there was none greater. When Abraham patiently endured, he obtained the promise, confirming that it is impossible for God to tell a lie. (Hebrews 6:13-18).

However, like so many Christians today, there were times Abraham struggled with doubt and unbelief. But God reassured him by asking, “IS THERE ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR GOD?” (Genesis 18:14). The answer has, and always will be-- “Nothing is impossible with God.” (Luke 1:37).

The God of Abraham is the same God of Isaac and Jacob, and the children of Israel, the same God of Moses and Joshua, and Jeremiah, Isaiah, and Ezekiel and Daniel and Jonah and Amos, Zachariah, and Malachi and Mary and Martha, and Lazarus and the Apostle Paul and Barnabas...He is the same today as he was yesterday, and He will be forever. He has not changed, he will not change, and as Pastor Shirly Cesar said, "What he did back then, he can do it again because he's the same God."

But, without faith, it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6). When Abraham believed and obeyed, this was counted unto him for righteousness. We see here that righteousness comes not by charitable deeds but by simply believing and obeying.

As Dr. Mike Murdock says, “Obedience is the only proof of our Faith in God.”

James says, “Be doers of the word and not hearers only. (James 1:22). We should believe and obey whenever God speaks. There really is no reason to doubt.

Hearing the word of God generates faith, and so, we confidently act in obedience, completely trusting that He who spoke it will not and cannot lie.

We must never let our intelligence, or the lack thereof, override our obedience to the word of God. But like Mary, though lacking understanding of the things spoken to her by the angel, yet she declared, “…Be it unto me, according to thy word.” (Luke 1:38).
