HAVE YOU GOT GOD’S VISION FOR YOUR LIFE?
Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no vision, the people perish
Where there is no vision the people will perish. People will feel hopeless. We have no control over our own lives.
Helen Keller was asked once “What would be worse than being born blind?” to which she replied “Having sight without a vision.”
What a profound statement by a girl who was born into this world Deaf, Dumb and blind. Could not help how she came into this world but she sure could help how she left this world.
Let me tell you today we can’t help how we came into this world but WE CAN HELP HOW WE LEAVE IT. Without a vision the people perish.
The word vision means – sight, dream, revelation or enlightenment.
• The power of anticipation,
• Expectation,
• Seeing the attainable, yet invisible.
Webster:
1. The faculty of sight,
2. Unusual foresight,
3. A mental image produced by the imagination,
4. The experience of the supernatural as if with the eyes.
The word perish means – to die or to backslide.
Vision is a picture held in your mind’s eye of the way things could or should be in the days ahead.
Having a vision is more than just looking on the bright side.
It is looking on God’s side.
It is looking at life from His perspective.
Col. 3:2 (NKJV)
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
The question we must answer today is do we as a people of God have a personal vision.
Some great quotes:
Vision is the art of seeing things invisible.- Katherine Logan
Destinies are shaped by ones vision. - Pastor Ron Crandall
Failures are only the by-product of a visionless person, they are overcome by belief in the Fact that through God all things are possible.
One’s destiny is determined, not by what he possesses, but rather by what possesses him.
Poor eyes limit your sight; poor vision limits your deeds.
Some important facts:
God over the time:
Objectives : God knows it all and made all provision for us to make it.
Rev. 22:13 (KJV)
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Just as alpha is the beginning of the alphabet, so am I the author and cause of all things; and just as omega is the end or last letter of the alphabet, so am I the end of all thinks, the destroyer as well as the establisher of all things.
Isaiah 41:4 (NKJV)
Who has performed and done it,
Calling the generations from the beginning? ’
I, the Lord, am the first;
And with the last I am He.’ "
Isaiah 44:6 (NKJV)
"Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel,
And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts:
’I am the First and I am the Last;
Besides Me there is no God.
Isaiah 48:12 (NKJV)
"Listen to Me, O Jacob,
And Israel, My called:
I am He, I am the First,
I am also the Last.
You need to understand that He is a God of eternal not bound time. He is all knowing and he knows the end.
We read in the bible
Romans 8:28-29 (KJV)
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. [29] For whom he did foreknow,
God’s plan began with His knowledge of the future. Before He created man, He knew man
would fall into sin. Consequently, before the creation of the world He had already planned Calvary.
1 Peter 1:18-20 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, [19] but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. [20] He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you
He foresaw that some men would accept His offer of salvation and that He would have a church, so He designed a plan of eternal salvation for that church.
V29 he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
God predestined for His church to be molded into the likeness of His Son. To predestine
means to foreordain, to determine in advance, to plan ahead of time with no possibility of alteration.
How is this possible?
He step into time as a form as a human being to redeem our sins.
Galatians 4:4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
