HAVE YOU GOT GOD’S VISION FOR YOUR LIFE?
Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no vision, the people perish
Where there is no vision the people will perish. People will feel hopeless. We have no control over our own lives.
Helen Keller was asked once “What would be worse than being born blind?” to which she replied “Having sight without a vision.”
What a profound statement by a girl who was born into this world Deaf, Dumb and blind. Could not help how she came into this world but she sure could help how she left this world.
Let me tell you today we can’t help how we came into this world but WE CAN HELP HOW WE LEAVE IT. Without a vision the people perish.
The word vision means – sight, dream, revelation or enlightenment.
• The power of anticipation,
• Expectation,
• Seeing the attainable, yet invisible.
Webster:
1. The faculty of sight,
2. Unusual foresight,
3. A mental image produced by the imagination,
4. The experience of the supernatural as if with the eyes.
The word perish means – to die or to backslide.
Vision is a picture held in your mind’s eye of the way things could or should be in the days ahead.
Having a vision is more than just looking on the bright side.
It is looking on God’s side.
It is looking at life from His perspective.
Col. 3:2 (NKJV)
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
The question we must answer today is do we as a people of God have a personal vision.
Some great quotes:
Vision is the art of seeing things invisible.- Katherine Logan
Destinies are shaped by ones vision. - Pastor Ron Crandall
Failures are only the by-product of a visionless person, they are overcome by belief in the Fact that through God all things are possible.
One’s destiny is determined, not by what he possesses, but rather by what possesses him.
Poor eyes limit your sight; poor vision limits your deeds.
Some important facts:
God over the time:
Objectives : God knows it all and made all provision for us to make it.
Rev. 22:13 (KJV)
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Just as alpha is the beginning of the alphabet, so am I the author and cause of all things; and just as omega is the end or last letter of the alphabet, so am I the end of all thinks, the destroyer as well as the establisher of all things.
Isaiah 41:4 (NKJV)
Who has performed and done it,
Calling the generations from the beginning? ’
I, the Lord, am the first;
And with the last I am He.’ "
Isaiah 44:6 (NKJV)
"Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel,
And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts:
’I am the First and I am the Last;
Besides Me there is no God.
Isaiah 48:12 (NKJV)
"Listen to Me, O Jacob,
And Israel, My called:
I am He, I am the First,
I am also the Last.
You need to understand that He is a God of eternal not bound time. He is all knowing and he knows the end.
We read in the bible
Romans 8:28-29 (KJV)
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. [29] For whom he did foreknow,
God’s plan began with His knowledge of the future. Before He created man, He knew man
would fall into sin. Consequently, before the creation of the world He had already planned Calvary.
1 Peter 1:18-20 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, [19] but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. [20] He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you
He foresaw that some men would accept His offer of salvation and that He would have a church, so He designed a plan of eternal salvation for that church.
V29 he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
God predestined for His church to be molded into the likeness of His Son. To predestine
means to foreordain, to determine in advance, to plan ahead of time with no possibility of alteration.
How is this possible?
He step into time as a form as a human being to redeem our sins.
Galatians 4:4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
God predestined the incarnation, the atonement, the church, and the ultimate salvation of everyone in the church.
Predestination applies to God’s plan, not to the fate of each individual.
These events were bound to occur regardless of anything else. The individual still has the freedom to choose whether or not he will be in that church.
The point is that the believer’s salvation is not just a wish or a mere possibility. It is an absolutely certain event if the believer will only remain in God’s plan.
Jesus declared in his word:
John 19:30 (KJV) he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
The power of the blood!
He has done it all to redeem his people. He choose to offer forgiveness and redemption for all my sins past, present and future sins. I have done all it all for them to be what I intended for them to be. Because Jesus says it is finished I can be what God wants be to be.
This is not to say we ignore are sins.
When you sin don’t condemn yourself deal with sin?
How do you deal with sin?
Running to Jesus, ask him for forgiveness and repent.
This is why you apply the blood of Jesus into your lives for the atonement of sin.
And my vision needs to become His visions. I am not just a sinner save by grace when he redeemed me I am a child of God. I need to see things from God’s perspective rather than from mine and need God’s vision not my own vision.
You see when God see you He sees you as a finished product that is what He meant when he said “It is finished”. Sometimes we tell ourselves maybe one day I will be a man of God but the truth of the matter in God’s eye you are already a man of God.
You may be struggling with issues in your life but that doesn’t mean that you are doom forever. In order for us to claim God’s vision into our lives we need to enter the supernatural and transport them into the natural by taking ownership of them through faith, perseverance, patience and discipline. They then become a reality in our lives.
Micah 7:8 (KJV)
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.
Proverbs 24:16 (KJV)
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
Vision is the motivational strength that has driven great men of God to undertake important and significant works not only for their communities, but for their personal family lives as well. It is the vision that makes us victors. The successful Christian recognizes the vision of God for his life and brings to bear all of his strength in fulfilling it.
Triumph starts from the moment man brings into submission his mind and thoughts. Whose report would you believe?
If you think you are beaten—you are.
If you think you dare not—you don’t.
If you want to win but think you can’t,
It is almost a cinch you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose—you’ve lost.
For out of the world we find
That success begins with a fellow’s will;
It’s all in the state of mind.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or the faster man;
But sooner or later the man that wins
Is the one who thinks he can.1
Proverbs 23:7 (KJV) For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:
Satan knows that if he conquers a man’s mind, he enslave him totally, The Lord wants us to have the mind of Christ. (PERCEVING LIFE HE WOULD SEE IT)
Philip. 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.
It is the mind where we are bombarded with vain imaginations but also where God’s ideas are received. Resentment, vengeance, and hatred come from the adversary, but all healthy and edifying thoughts comes from God. Victors have learned to embrace ideas and visions from God in the development of their lives.
What’s God’s vision for me?
Philip. 1:6 (NKJV) being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
Hebrews 12:2 (KJV) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
When discourage?
Remember Paul said I have finished my course
2 Tim. 4:7 (KJV)
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
But Paul did not say I am always on the right course.
Hebrews 12:1 (NKJV)
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
Hebrews 12:14 (NKJV)
Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:
“Pursue”
1. to follow in order to overtake, capture, kill, etc.; chase.
Conclusion
Col. 3:16-17 (NKJV)
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. [17] And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Twenty Cans of Success
1. Why should I say I can’t when the Bible says I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength (Phil. 4:13)?
2. Why should I worry about my needs when I know that God will take care of all my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:19)?
3. Why should I fear when the Bible says God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7)?
4. Why should I lack faith to live for Christ when God has given me a measure of faith (Romans 12:3)?
5. Why should I be weak when the Bible says that the Lord is the strength of my life and that I will display strength and take action because I know God (Psalm 27:1; Daniel 11:32)?
6. Why should I allow Satan control over my life when He that is in me is greater than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4)?
7. Why should I accept defeat when the Bible says that God always leads me in victory (2 Cor. 2:14)?
8. Why should I lack wisdom when I know that Christ became wisdom to me from God and God gives wisdom to me generously when I ask Him for it (1 Cor. 1:30; James 1:5)?
9. Why should I be depressed when I have hope and can recall to mind God’s loving-kindness, compassion and faithfulness (Lament. 3:21-23)?
10. Why should I worry and be upset when I can cast all my anxieties on Christ who cares for me (1 Peter 5:7)?
11. Why should I ever be in bondage knowing that there is freedom where the Spirit of the Lord is (2 Cor. 3:17)?
12. Why should I feel condemned when the Bible says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1)?
13. Why should I feel alone when Jesus said He is with me always and He will never leave me nor forsake me (Matthew 28:20; Hebrews 13:5)?
14. Why should I feel as if I’m cursed or have bad luck when the Bible says that Christ rescued me from the curse of the law that I might receive His Spirit by faith (Galatians 3:13, 14)?
15. Why should I be unhappy when I, like Paul, can learn to be content whatever the circumstances (Phil. 4:11)?
16. Why should I feel worthless when Christ became sin for me so that I might become the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21)?
17. Why should I feel helpless in the presence of others when I know that if God is for me, who can be against me (Romans 8:31)?
18. Why should I be confused when God is the author of peace and He gives me knowledge through His spirit who lives in me (1 Cor. 2:12; 1 Cor. 14:33)?
19. Why should I feel like a failure when I am more than a conqueror through Christ who loved me (Romans 8:37)?
20. Why should I let the pressures of life bother me when I can take courage knowing that Jesus has overcome the world and its problems (John 16:33)?
