Summary: How will God's victory look?

Whose ultimate victory will we sing about and praise His power? Let’s look at Psalm 21.

Who is the real king behind these words who will have ultimate victory?

How the king rejoices in your strength, O Lord! He shouts with joy because you give him victory. For you have given him his heart’s desire; you have withheld nothing he requested. Interlude (Ps 21:1-2 NLT)

Which king do we celebrate who will have a crown of fine gold and reign forever?

For you meet him with the blessings of goodness. You set a crown of fine gold on his head. He asked life of you and you gave it to him, even length of days forever and ever. (Ps 21:3-4 WEB)

Who is this king who has glory and grandeur forever?

The king’s reputation is great because of your saving help; you’ve conferred on him glory and grandeur. You grant him blessings forever; you make him happy with the joy of your presence. Because the king trusts the Lord, and because of the Most High’s faithful love, he will not stumble. (Ps 21:5-7 CEB)

Who will have ultimate victory over every enemy and destroy them by fire?

With your mighty arm, Lord, you will strike down all of your hateful enemies. They will be destroyed by fire once you are here, and because of your anger, flames will swallow them. You will wipe their families from the earth, and they will disappear. All their plans to harm you will come to nothing. You will make them run away by shooting your arrows at their faces. (Ps 21:8-12 CEV)

Is there a heavenly kingdom hinted at in these verses? How important are singing and praise in our Christian life?

Be exalted, O Lord, in your strength! We will sing and praise your power. (Ps 21:13 ESV)

Who will have ultimate victory and rule as king of kings and Lord of Lords?

Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True, and He judges and makes war in righteousness. His eyes were like a fiery flame, and many crowns were on His head. He had a name written that no one knows except Himself. He wore a robe stained with blood, and His name is the Word of God. The armies that were in heaven followed Him on white horses, wearing pure white linen. A sharp sword came from His mouth, so that He might strike the nations with it. He will shepherd them with an iron scepter. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty. And He has a name written on His robe and on His thigh: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. (Rev 19:11-16 HCSB)

Whose ultimate victory will we sing about and praise His power? You decide!
