Summary: Do we appreciate God's glory?

Do the heavens reveal God’s glory? Does the Bible reveal even more about God, exposing even our hidden sins? Let’s look at Psalm 19.

Without a spoken word do the heavens reveal a designer who has marvelous glory?

Heaven is declaring God’s glory; the sky is proclaiming his handiwork. One day gushes the news to the next, and one night informs another what needs to be known. Of course, there’s no speech, no words—their voices can’t be heard—but their sound extends throughout the world; their words reach the ends of the earth. God has made a tent in heaven for the sun. The sun is like a groom coming out of his honeymoon suite; like a warrior, it thrills at running its course. It rises in one end of the sky; its circuit is complete at the other. Nothing escapes its heat. (Ps 19:1-6 CEB)

Does the written word reveal sure testimony, wisdom, precepts, commandments, clean fear, rules and great reward?

The law [instruction, teaching] of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. (Ps 19:7-11 ESV)

Do we understand how much we actually sin, faults hidden even to us? Do we pray that God helps us overcome even sins we are unaware of?

Who perceives his unintentional sins? Cleanse me from my hidden faults. Moreover, keep Your servant from willful sins; do not let them rule over me. Then I will be innocent and cleansed from blatant rebellion. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. (Ps 19:12-14 HCSB)

How does creation reveal God’s existence and nature to us?

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible attributes—his eternal power and divine nature—have been understood and observed by what he made, so that people are without excuse. (Rom 1:20 ISV)

Is even Old Testament scripture profitable, teaching us good works?

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Tim 3:16-17 KJV)

Do the heavens reveal God’s glory? Does the Bible reveal even more about God, exposing even our hidden sins? You decide!
