Getting On The Boat
Contributed by Joe Rowland on Oct 19, 2009 (message contributor)
Summary: Gods Word says that He will be with us and that He is the shelter from the storm. Maybe you fill like everything is going difficult, maybe you fill your starting to sink in your boat. Doubt sees the obsticles but faith sees the way!

Getting On The Boat
John 6:16-21
16 And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,
17 And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.
18 And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.
19 So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.
20 But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.
21 Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.
I have entitled this today: Getting on the boat
It was evening time and the Disciples had gone down unto the sea.
They had entered into a ship and was heading towards Capernaum, this was where Jesus told them to go.
In verse 17, it says and it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.
John was now setting the stage for that which would appear.
According to verse 18, the seaa rose because of the wind that was blowing.
The Scripure does not say that it was a storm, but the wind was adverse.
In other words, it was blowing against them to where they could not make any headway.
They rowed about four miles and they were portrayed as being pushed into the middle of the lake.
As they were pushed by the wind they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near unto the ship and they were afraid.
If we want to see Jesus we need to let the wind blow and find an urging to be pushed where it is that God wants us to be.
Do not give up when adversity comes your way in live, but realise that God is letting these things take place that we might be able to see Him work in our lives.
If we had been on that ship with the Disciples, we would have found ourselves being fearful to.
Do not become so spirituel and say you would not have been because you would have feared what you had never seen before.
Joh 6:20 But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.
The literal translation is, “I am, be not afraid”; in effect He was telling them that He was the I am of the Old Testament.
Don’t be thrown off, we believe in the Trinity, The God head is three persons, but yet they are one.
In verse 21, they willingly received Him into the ship.
Without Jesus in their ship, their progress was difficult, if not impossible; with Him in the ship all things change and immediantly.
Joh 6:21 Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.
At Capernaum, a distance of about four miles; this means that one second the ship was about a distance of four miles from the land, and the next second it was at the land.
Jesus can change circumstance and direction just like that.
It does not matter where we are at, or what the circumstance looks like with Jesus on our boat we will be allright.
We need to let God direct our paths because if we believe that He can then He will.

Dream 10-17-09
I dreamed that I was observing Jackie Chambers. Jackie called me and told me that I needed to come and talk to some people. I knew that it was my responcability. I then crossed a path that led across a body of water and it led to a boat. The boat had a covering. I got on and I knew everything would be allright.

39 He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.
40 The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
41 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.
