Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
God knows and loves us completely, but we often forget this truth amidst the busyness of life. We need to reconnect with our Heavenly Father and rediscover His life-giving words over us.
Do you ever feel like you're just a face in the crowd? Like you could disappear and no one would notice? I get it. But here's the thing - you're not invisible to God. He knows you better than anyone else, and He thinks you're pretty amazing.
Let's start with a little experiment. I have here a $20 bill. Who wants it? (Hold up the bill and wait for hands to go up.) Now, what if I crumple it up? (Crumple the bill.) Still want it? What if I step on it? (Step on the bill.) Still want it? Why? Because it's still worth $20, right? No matter what it's been through, it hasn't lost its value. And it's the same with you. No matter what you've been through, you haven't lost your value to God.
No matter what you've been through, you haven't lost your value to God.
Let's dive into Psalm 139. It's written by this guy named David, who was a king but also made a ton of mistakes. But he knew something important - God knew him completely.
God knows everything about you - when you're chilling, when you're busy, what you're thinking, what you're going to say. It's mind-blowing, right? Isaiah 55:8-9 says God's thoughts and ways are way beyond ours, like the sky is higher than the ground. So, if you trust your smart friend's advice, how much more can you trust God, who knows everything?
Next, David talks about how God made us. He says we're wonderfully made. That's like God saying, "You're awesome!" And this isn't just some random compliment. This is from the One who made everything, who knows everything, who loves you more than you can imagine.
So, when was the last time someone called you awesome? Well, God does. Every. Single. Day.
So, here's the deal. God knows you completely, and He thinks you're awesome. But life gets crazy, and we can feel like we're invisible. That's because we're not hearing God's voice clearly.
So, how do we fix that? Spend time with God. Just like you need a good signal to chat with your friends, you need a good connection with God. You can do that through reading the Bible, praying, hanging out with other Christians, or just being quiet and listening.
Don't settle for feeling invisible. Make time for God, and hear His voice telling you that you're known, loved, and awesome.
God, help us connect with You this week. Show us how to make time for You in our crazy schedules. Help us say no to stuff that's just noise and yes to You. We want to really get that we're known, loved, and awesome. Thanks for seeing us, God. In Jesus' name, amen.
