Dormant: Buried Talents?

DORMANT? BURIED TALENTS? THE TURNING POINT…

In Math we have several symbols, let us think about two:

WE BELIEVE THERE IS A GREATER THAN AMONG US THAT CAN ENLARGE OUR POTENTIAL AND ABILITIES BEYOND THE REACH OF OUR HUMAN, FINITE REACH.

DORMANT: not doing anything at this time, not active, asleep, sluggish…

POTENTIAL: EXISTING IN POSSIBILITY, capable of development, a chance that something will happen, the possibility to make something better, capable, skill to do something well.

ABLE: to have enough power to do something,

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT) For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Jeremiah 29:11 (MSG) I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

LET ME ASK US A QUESTION? WHAT ARE YOU LEARNING? WHAT IS GOD TRYING TO TEACH US? WHAT ARE YOU TEACHING?

*I would do more if … __________________________________?

*I would be happier if… ________________________________?

GOD KNOWS HIS CHILDREN. GOD KNOWS YOUR NAME AND HE KNOWS YOU ABILITIES, YOUR STRENGTHS AND YOUR WEAKNESSES!

God invest in people. God gives talents according to our ability.

NO SADDER WORDS OF PEN OR TONGUE THAN THE WORDS WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN!

Matthew 25:15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

Why did God give 5, 2 and 1? God never expects what you cannot do? If God asked you to do something, He will give you the ability to perform the assigned task.

The 5 talent doubled to 10?

The 2 talent gained 2 more? Again he doubled? God never expected what he could not deliver.

Matthew 25:18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.

THE SERVANTS KNEW THE MASTER WAS LEAVING AND TRUSTING THEM WITH THE TALENTS HE INVESTED IN THEM? WHAT WILL SERVANTS DO WHILE THE MASTER IS AWAY WILL REVEAL THE SERVANTS HEART?

WHAT DO WE DO WHILE WE ARE WAITING? WHY DOES THE MASTER LEAVE AND MAKE THEM WAIT A LONG TIME?

This could have a double meaning:

1. This could be to give a greater opportunity TO DO MORE?

2. This could be a testing of attitudes?

Matthew 25:19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

Why do two men hear: WELL DONE, GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT AND THE OTHER MAN HEARS SOME SAD WORDS?

Matthew 25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. 26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. 29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. 30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

OUR ENEMY IS THE FATHER OF LIES! OUR ENEMY’S TARGET IS OUR MIND. HOW DOES THE ENEMY TARGET OUR MINDS? HE USES LYING ATTITUDES AND ½ TRUTHS. SO WE NEED TO KNOW THE TRUTH OF GOD’S WORDS TO EXPOSE …

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Our emotions and feelings will lie and distort the truth. Our sin is birthed in lies. The enemy desires us to fall in a mud puddle and stay there. You can get up any time you so desire?
