Summary: One great revival message

Don’t Miss the Flow II Kings 2:1-11

And it came to pass, when the LORD was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. 2 Then Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here, please, for the LORD has sent me on to Bethel.”

But Elisha said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they went down to Bethel.

3 Now the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from over you today?”

And he said, “Yes, I know; keep silent!”

4 Then Elijah said to him, “Elisha, stay here, please, for the LORD has sent me on to Jericho.”

But he said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they came to Jericho.

5 Now the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho came to Elisha and said to him, “Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from over you today?”

So he answered, “Yes, I know; keep silent!”

6 Then Elijah said to him, “Stay here, please, for the LORD has sent me on to the Jordan.”

But he said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So the two of them went on. 7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood facing them at a distance, while the two of them stood by the Jordan. 8 Now Elijah took his mantle, rolled it up, and struck the water; and it was divided this way and that, so that the two of them crossed over on dry ground.

9 And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?”

Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.”

10 So he said, “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.” 11 Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

I don’t want to miss God’s Spirit-His calling. How many times have you missed God’s best? His plans for you? His calling? His provision?

During a revival, one lady came up and she wanted more of God’s love so she could help others around her.

God’s pleased with that, because when you receive more of the love of God, you will obtain everything else!

It’s not about His gifts, nor some special call first. No, If you will reach out for His heart and you will get His hand.

II Corinthians 3:3 Clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ( a letter from Christ) ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.

Your life should be preaching-love, peace, faith, hope, joy, courage etc.

How many times are we just stuck on saying, “Bless me God!” However God’s thinking, “No, just love and bless Me!”

God calls (you) His letter, His living epistle, Filled with His Spirit not by a letter but through His Son’s shed blood!

Elijah goes to Gilgal, Bethel, Jericho, Jordan. Finally the two of them cross over to receive their reward!

First, Elijah travels to Gilgal- Gilgal means transition-it was the first place Israel came after crossing the river Jordan!

Gilgal marks the spot where Joshua places stones from the river Jordan as a memorial.

Secondly, Elijah goes to Bethel-meaning house of worship. A hallowed or holy place. It’s God’s filling station; A place to get refueled! A Spiritual awakening.

Thirdly, Elijah travels to Jericho. Jericho is a village in Jordan near the north end of the Dead Sea; in the Old Testament it was the first place taken by the Israelites under Joshua as they entered the Promised Land.

As you travel to Jericho deliverance ‘can’ occur!

Finally Elijah travels to Jordan, in Hebrew it means to flow down. New meaning-new revelation, vision, and mission!

New depths, current, new levels!

The Prophet of God said to Elisha, “Ask.” Transition, Worship, Deliverance and Flow!
