Don't Get Excited

In our text we find Peter writing no new doctrine, no new preaching just writing a letter to encourage believers. This morning we would like to try something a little different. We would like to encourage you not to get too excited about something's. We would like to do this not as an advocate of the Lord, but as that of the devil. Maybe we could see this as "AN INTETVEIW WITH THE DEVIL."

DON'T GET EXCITED ABOUT THE:

1. SOCIAL DECLINE-(Proverbs 14:34) "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people."

a. Drinking Crowd

b. Drug Culture

c. Dress Code

d. Divorce Courts

e. Demonic Cults

f. Dissatisfied Couples

DON'T GET EXCITED ABOUT THIS: Sin Sick, Sex Soaked Society!

2. SPIRITUAL DEADNESS- (Revelation 3:1) "And unto the angel of the church

in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead."

a. Cold to the (1) Holy Spirit (2) Hell (3) Holiness

b. Carnality- (Rom. 8:6-7)

c. Casual Christian- Fits in the church and in the world.

3. SINNERS DOOM- (Revelation 20:15) "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

DON'T GET EXCITED ABOUT:

a. Every minute 100 people die.

b. Every hour 6,000 die

c. Every day 144,000 die

d. Every month 432,000 die

e. Every year 46,800,000 die (Don't Get Excited About This)

"MANY ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE DEFICIT REACHING 1 TRILLION DOLLARS THAN THE SINNERS DOOM!"

* Unconcerned

* Uncaring

2) Remedy- (Psalm 126:6) "He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves [with him]. It takes:

a.) Passion

b.) Planning

c.) Prayer

d.) Power
