Don't Panic, Don't Believe The Distortions
Contributed by Wade Martin Hughes, Sr on Feb 1, 2025 (message contributor)
Summary: Many times we focus on the distortions of the negative crowd. The enemy plays mental and emotional games with our minds. On one side of the cloud was darkness. The other side walked in the light of God. Which side will we choose?

DON’T PANIC! WHY ARE YOU TROUBLED? WHEN YOUR HEART AND YOUR EYES DECEIVE YOU!
By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com (YouTube: Wade Hughes)
*COME LET US FOCUS ON JOHN BEVERE’S WORDS: If we don’t risk being hurt, we cannot give unconditional love. Unconditional love gives others the right (permission) to hurt us!
*DISTORTION: negative patterns in thinking, internal mental or spiritual filter, pull or twist out of shape, misleading, to alter from original state, exaggeration, increase anxiety, depression, you think you know what others are thinking.
Mark 8:24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
WHEN OUR EMOTIONS AND FEELINGS PLAY MENTAL GAMES AND TWIST OUR FAITH TO DOUBT AND GLOOM.
Psalm 42:11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
Psalm 42:11 (MSG) Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues? Fix my eyes on God— soon I'll be praising again. He puts a smile on my face. He's my God.
Psalm 42:11 (NLT2) Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!
WHEN WE FIND OUR SELF CHALLENGED BY COMPLAINING AND FINDING FAULT WE WILL NEVER COME TO KNOW THE CLOSE INTIMACY WITH GOD IN OUR DAILY LIVES.
Life is about choices. Complaining can become habitual. Complaining is bad for your brain and your spirit. Will we place limits on our complaining? Is complaining a learned behavior? Can complaining affect your moods? Complaining sows seeds of NEGATIVITY in our mind.
Numbers 11:5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: 6 But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.
Numbers 11:5 We remember the fish that we ate freely and without cost in Egypt, the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic. 6. But now our appetite is gone; that is nothing at all [in the way of food]to be seen but this manna.
DEPRESSION, WORRY, FEAR, ANXIETY AND HOPELESSNESS RESULTS IN NEGATIVE DISTORTIONS OF SPIRITUAL TRUTHS.
DIDN’T I TELL YOU? THE DISTORTION SAYS: GOD WE ARE HEAR TO DIE?
Exodus 14:10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.
11 And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? 12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.
QUIT LOOKING BACK! GO FORWARD! LIFT YOUR ROD… A ROD? THE ROD OF GOD!
Exodus 14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. 14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
15 And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: 16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
DISTORTION: WE TEND TO LIMIT OUR ROD? VS THE ROD OF GOD… (THY ROD --- THY STAFF)
Exodus 4:2 And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
Something happens Moses rod turns into a snake… Remember “the rod” eats Pharoah’s snakes.
Exodus 4:20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.
GOD ‘S PLAN IS THAT WE DO NOT DISTORT GOD’S CALLING.
Exodus 14:14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
Exodus 14:14 (MSG) "GOD will fight the battle for you. And you? You keep your mouths shut!"
Exodus 14:14 (NIV) The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still."
Exodus 14:14 (NLT2) The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”
