Summary: The secret to success is to find our true calling in life and pursue it with all our heart. We always find time to do what is important to us.

Doing One Thing

Psalms 27:4 Phillipians 3:13

In business, Orville Redenbocker sought to do one thing and to become the best at it. He cultivated the best popcorn, studied on the best methods of popping and packaging, years after his death his popcorn still noted as being the best.

As a small boy,I had but one thing on my mind and that was to play baseball.

Perhaps there is one thing you like to do more than anything else.

Throughout the Bible we find several references to doing one thing.

John 9:25 The blind man who Jesus had healed said, "One thing I know, whereas I was blind I now can see"

(1)

David too had one thing on his mind and in his heart. Psalms 27:4 "One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after;"

(A) Col.3:1-2, "Seek things which are above"

(B) We must petition the Lord for this one thing

(C) Read this entire verse of Scripture

(2) Paul had one thing also

(A) Philiipians 3:13, "One thing I do"

(B) He had to forget past accomplishments

all of the miracles that had taken place in his ministry. Too often we are so wrapped up in what has been accomplished in the past we can not move forward. (C) Paul, also had to forget the past failures and the wrongs he had done.

Forget his part in persecuting the church.

(D) We too must forget our past failures, the times we have rebelled against God’s will.

(3) One thing I Desire Of The Lord

(A) That I might help someone

(B) That I might make Heaven my home

(C) That I might love people the way God loves
