BROKEN --- FRACTURED --- BE A HOPE GIVER...
By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com
WE HAVE BEEN CALLED TO REACH THE BROKEN-FRACTURE INDIVIDUALS AND BRING
THE ANOINTING OF HOPE AND DELIVERANCE ... EVEN IN DIFFICULT TIMES...
BE A HOPE GIVER.
Deuteronomy 28:23 (KJV) And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth
that is under thee shall be iron.
Deuteronomy 28:23 (NLT) The skies above will be as unyielding as bronze, and the earth
beneath will be as hard as iron.
Deuteronomy 28:23 (MSG) The sky over your head will become an iron roof, the ground under
your feet, a slab of concrete.
BRASS is an alloy of copper and zinc...
Brass was used as fetters... JESUS HAS A PLAN TO BREAK THE FETTERS...
Judges 16:21 (KJV) But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to
Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.
2 Kings 25:7 (KJV) And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of
Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon.
BRASS IS A SYMBOL OF INSENSIBILITY AND OBSTINACY.
BRASS WAS ALSO USED AS A SYMBOL OF STRENGTH...
CAN WE REMEMBER BRASS ITEMS IN THE BIBLE?
BRASS WAS USED AS A CURE...
The people had been complaining and griping about everything.
Moses got tired of hearing their constant bickering and backbiting.
GOD WAS ANGRY WITH THE UNGRATEFUL PEOPLE AND SENT POISONS SNAKES TO
BITE AND KILL THE COMPLAINERS...
Numbers 21:4 And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land
of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way. 5 And the people
spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the
wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.
6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people
of Israel died. 7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken
against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us.
And Moses prayed for the people. 8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and
set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it,
shall live. 9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a
serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
A BRASS SERPANT WAS MADE AND LIFTED HIGH ON A POLE...
THE SNAKE BITE WAS PUNISHMENT FOR MURMURING AGAINST MOSES AND GOD!
IF ANY PERSON BITEN AND DYING WOULD LOOK TOWARDS THE BRONZE SERPANT THEY
HAD THE ANTEDOTE FOR THE POISON?
HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WAS THERE PEOPLE TO STUBBOORN TO LOOK TOWARDS
THE BRONZE SERPANT?
THE BLESSINGS AND THE CRES BECAME A SINFUL TRAP...
THE ISRAELI PEOPLE KEPT THE SERPANT AND CARRIED IT AROUND WITH THEM.
THE BRASS SERPANT WAS A DISTORTION AND A DISTRACTION... THEY LOST FOCUS
ON WHAT WAS REALLY IMPORTANT.
OBSTACLES ARE WHAT WE SEE WHEN WE LOSE SIGHT OF THE GOAL.
Through out the history of the Jews they carried the brass snake --- IT WAS TO REMIND THEM
OF THE DANGER OF COMPLAINING...
OVER TIME THEY FELL IN LOVE WITH THE COMPLAINING HABIT...
WE LAST SEE THE BRASS SERPANT IN THE TIME Of HEZEKIAH...
HEZEKIAH CLEANED HOUSE...
ABOUT 1,000 YEARS LATER... SPIRITUAL INFATUATION
THE BRONZE SNAKE BECAME AN ISSUE OF GREAT CONTEMPT
THEY NAMED THE SNAKE: NEHUSHTAN ---
GOD'S PEOPLE STARTED BURNING INCENSE TO THE SNAKE AND MADE IT AN IDOL
THERE IS A GREAT DANGER WHEN WE PRAISE PRAISE, AND WORSHIP WORSHIP...
2 Kings 18:2 Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and
nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Abi, the daughter of Zachariah.
3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father did.
4 He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces
the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to
it: and he called it Nehushtan. 5 He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none like
him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him. 6 For he clave to the LORD, and
