JOHN 1: 1 - 3

In the beginning was the WORD, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

It's amazing reading this scripture and it's so powerful at the same time.

The Holy Spirit will have to help us to understand this because what the Holy Spirit is saying to us is that in the very beginning Jesus was present at creation with His Father and He himself is God and this is proving to us that God is One but yet He is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Wow! this is awesome.

The "Word" is Jesus Christ who is the eternal, ultimate expression of God the father.

In the OT God spoke the world into existence and in the NT God spoke the final word through His living word, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the WORD!

And this is why it's so important to have the written WORD in us. Having the written WORD in us is having Jesus in us!

When we open the Word to read it's God communicating with us through His written Word. The Word is His will for us and it gives us guidance in our lifetime. The Word must abide in us for us to bear fruits. God does not want us to be barren ( not bearing fruit ). And this is why we need to spend time in His presence by going into His Word.

Several times in scripture we hear Jesus talking about the Word, example He said It is written and gave us lots of promises to hold onto and believe.

Believing in the written WORD is to believe in God.

Jesus would say to his disciples and us "Have faith" in God.

What did He mean?

We are to trust in the written WORD because He Himself is the written WORD!

This is just extraordinary!

In Luke 4: 16 - 21

So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,

Because He has anointed Me

To preach the gospel to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives

And recovery of sight to the blind,

To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

Jesus who is the written WORD read the Word and said to them I am the written Word that as now become flesh!

I am alive and you can now relate to me in the flesh.

This is why the Word of God has written in Hebrews 4:12 is living.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

He The WORD became Flesh and dwelt among us. And anywhere Jesus went, His Word that He spoke pierced their hearts and has children of God when we read the Word it does the same thing to our hearts. Why? because it's living.!

John 15:7

Jesus said

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

The amplified translation puts it this way

If you remain in Me and My words remain in you [that is, if we are vitally united and My message lives in your heart], ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you.

Jesus wants us to put His written Word in our hearts and He promises that whatever we ask for shall be done for us.

And remember that he said in His Word that His Word will not return to Him void. It will always accomplish whatever we have asked for. The promises of God is Yes and Amen to the glory of the Father.

Loving God is to obey Him by going into His Word.

Jesus said us in John 14:21.

The person who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who [really] loves Me; and whoever [really] loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him [I will make Myself real to him].” (AMP)
