ACCESS --- SEE THAT MOUNTAIN BEFORE US?

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

I. SEE THE MOUNTAIN BEFORE US? LET US CLIMB THIS MOUNTAIN

TOGETHER! WE HAVE PRECIOUS PROMISES BEFORE US...

HAVE YOU SEEN THE GOLDEN SCEPTRE?

WHAT DOES ACCESS MEAN?

A. ACCESS:

Easy to understand, open, available

To make a way of approach or entry to...

A right or opportunity to reach or use or visit...

Admittance, accessibile,

Permission and ability to enter into a secured area.

To come into the presence of someone important --- such as God.

To have a face to face meeting.

To stand in the presence of the King.

B. ESTHER KNEW THAT TO APPROACH THE KING WITHOUT PERMISSION

COULD BE DANGEROUS...

Esther 4:11 All the king’s servants, and the people of the king’s provinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his to put him to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to

come in unto the king these thirty days.

C. At many palaces if the King is there --- there will hang a FLAG WITH

THE ROYAL CROWN drawn upon it. You were not allowed to approach

the King with a frown or a bad attitude.

D. Did you know the VEIL to the Holy of Holies was rent from the TOP

to the bottom?

Did you know Jesus brings ACCESS TO GOD to the Jew and to the Gentile?

You can approach the throne of God with CONFIDENCE and Boldness.

John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved,

and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

II. MAN HAS A GREAT HIDDEN ABILITY...

HE CAN REFUSE TO SEE WHAT HE DOES NOT WANT TO SEE... ???

A. We can see some proudly display ignorance of ignorance and display

great pride in it. God no longer accepts IGNORANCE as an acceptable

defence.

B. I learned a great lesson while STUDENT TEACHING in Tazewell, Tennessee. I was student teaching the 7th and 8th grade. While the students were in a group setting in the gym --- I saw two students blatantly break school rules.

As the students were leaving the gym I tapped the two students on the shoulder and asked them to go directly to the office.

C. I met the Principal before stepping in the office. I informed the Principal what I had seen with my own eyes. We stepped into his office and he closed the door. I again stated what I had seen in the school assembly.

D. Both students vehemently denied their actions.

One said: Mr. Hughes does not like me and he has always picked on me

since coming here. I could not believe what I was hearing. The Principal carried out the appropriate discipline. Then dismissed the two students.

E. Later in a conversation with the Principal he told me: HUGHES, YOU HAVE ALOT TO LEARN. Did you think those students were going to admit to breaking the rules?

I replied: YES!

He then replied: YOU HAVE ALOT TO LEARN ABOUT HUMAN NATURE?

Fear of the consequences can cause people to DENY THE TRUTH.

F. Look at the standard of DENIAL THAT PETER ESTABLISHED 3 TIMES.

III. WE CAN NOT WINK AT IGNORANCE? IF ACCEPTANCE OF IGNORANCE OF

THE LAW IS AN ACCEPTABLE DEFENSE --- THEN EVERYONE WOULD PLEA

IGNORANCE AS A DEFENSE AND THUS THE JUDGING SYSTEM WOULD HAVE

TO EXCUSE EACH OFFENDER.

A. How can one prove what an individual knows?

Try telling the judge: Your honor, I did not know what the speed limit was?

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now

commandeth all men every where to repent:

B. WOULD WE FREELY PONDER HIGH-HANDED BEHAVIOR?

We tend to recognize and distinguish between IGNORANCE and

UNINTENTIONAL verses PRESUMPTION and PREMEDITATED ACTIONS...

C. CAN WE CONSIDER THE DIFFERENCE IN ABUSE AND NEGLECT?

2 Tim. 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2 Tim. 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

D. We can become experts in CEREMONIES without personal experiences.

We must know a PRESENT PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD.

Joel 2:13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

IV. WE HAVE AN OPEN DOOR --- THE DOOR OF OPPORTUNITY IS BEFORE US...

BUT THERE ARE ALSO OBSTACLES... WE HAVE ACCESS TO GOD’S RESORT...

A. DO YOU RECOGNIZE WE HAVE THE KEY?
