C. Fear God (v. 7)
a. Godly fear defined…
i. To fear God means we have a reverence
and respect for Him.
ii. If we recognize God as the all-
powerful creator of the universe and
we serve Him as our King we will
reverence His Word and His Will in all
we do in life.
b. Godly Fear is necessary…
i. In Avoiding Sin (Exodus 20:20)
ii. In Serving God (Hebrews 12:28)
iii. In Worshiping God (Psalm 5:7)
c. God blesses those who fear Him…
i. Those who fear God depart from evil
(Proverbs 16:6)
ii. Those who fear God gain wisdom
(Psalm 111:10)
iii. Those who fear God are successful
(Proverbs 15:16)
iv. Those who fear God receive eternal
life (Proverbs 19:23)
v. Those who fear God receive His
protection (Proverbs 14:26)
vi. Those who fear God receive His mercy
(Psalm 103:11)
D. Flee From Sin (V. 7)
a. Flee from evil ways
(1 Thessalonians 5:22)
b. Don’t follow after evil people
(3 John verse 11)
c. Forsake a sinful life
(Romans 6:12;Romans 2:9)
