#2 Spinning a web to catch the lost -- DINOSAUR

This is #2 of 3 Spin a web for growth.

Dinosaur evangelism?

Making a difference?

We ponder growth and winning lost souls.

Evangelism should be the #1 reason for our existence.

There are many souls headed toward hell at 1440 minutes per day.

They laugh and party, yet their emptiness finds them lacking, ...

HELL BOUND.

I have a little poem in the front of many of my Bibles.

I know not the author. But ponder these words...

I STAND AT NIGHT, AMID THE CITY’S THRONG.

AND I SCAN THE FACES THAT PASS ALONG.

AND I READ A HISTORY OF WOE,

AND OF WANT, AND OF GRIEF.

AND MY HEART GOES FARTHER THAN MY HAND CAN REACH,

AND I FEEL A SERMON I COULD NEVER PREACH.

How many of you have a pet dinosaur?

Those that love Barney, ... they know,

Barney is a figment of the imagination?

Why no pet dinosaurs?

They died quicker than they reproduced?

When we lived in the mountains of eastern Kentucky,

we often traveled to West Virginia.

We passed this beautiful brick church.

The church’s windows were broken out and it had been closed for many years.

I often pondered, WHY?

I pondered aloud one day?

My then, 8 year son replied,

"Daddy, I know why that church is closed and rotted down."

I asked, "WHY SON?"

He answered, "See, the grave yard goes all the way around the church.

All it’s members died!"

WOW?

We have many of this generation laughing with seared consciences

as hell enlarges itself.

The church is headed toward EXTINCTION WHEN THE PEOPLE NO LONGER REACH OUT TO THE BACKSLIDEN AND THE LOST. IT IS EASY TO FALL INTO A MINISTRY OF THE 99, AND FORGET THOSE HUNG IN THE THICKETS?

We need a broken heart and a burden for the LOST.

We need God to direct us to planning, spinning a web for the lost.

I have taught soul winning classes, and we set in the walls of the church waiting?

I have a neat lesson called tearing down their excuses.

Someone must fall in brokenness and develop a winning strategy to reach those going to hell.

Play a game with me?

PLEASE?

Close your eyes and pretend you are in HELL.

Look around hell, what do you see?

Listen in hell, what do you hear?

Smell in hell, what do you smell?

Feel in hell, what do you feel?

Taste the tastes of hell, what do you taste?

We need soul winning to arise as the #1 priority of the saints and sinners.

There will be people in hell that you know well.

They will rise in anger because of the lack of mission minded Christians.

I love foreign missions.

But, we must open our eyes.

Hear the Spirit?

Know the WORD?

ONE VISION OF HELL for ministers would birth REVIVAL.

Let’s look at some statistics from a Gallup Poll.

50% of all unchurched people plan on becoming

active members of a church in the near future.

f this fact is true, we have people not satisfied with their life and family just waiting for an open door, an invitation to worship.

We should have hope, a call to action?

We need to spin the web and open the doors.

We are not exclusive groups, we should be inclusive groups that are ever reaching to the lost and the oppressed.

80% of all unchurched people would like their children

to have a spiritual education and know moral truths.

Somehow the church must develop leadership with a love of young people. Often times it is the youth that will bring their parents to the church and lead them.

We need to train leaders and young people.

When I was a school teacher, I was not suppose to talk about the Lord, or give out tracts on school property.

Every year, I had a target student that I would train off premises,

I would give him/her comic tracts and things like that, as a student they had the right to do this.

One on one.

Won by one.

In our communities we need to back the teachers and encourage them.

How many prayer meetings have we had for our school teachers?

You could prepare students to work in the mission of the school?
