14 REASONS GOD IS SO GOOD!

I read where the famous runner, USAIN BOLT, said: “ I TRAINED 4 YEARS TO RUN A RACE THAT LASTED 9 SECONDS. SEEMS PEOPLE GIVE UP WHEN THEY DON’T SEE RESULTS IN 2 MONTHS?”

LET ME TELL YOU A STORY ABOUT UNDERSTANDING: SEEMS THERE WAS POOR CHINESE FARMER.

Seems the story wanted to teach about wisdom and understanding and how the lessons may not be easily taught.

These poor Chinese farmer had a nice family, a little farm and one plow horse. The old horse was like family and helped on the farm and going to town once a week. One day someone forgot to lock the gate one night. When the family went out to work the old horse escape out of the barn lot. Someone asked the farmer was this bad? The farmer said: It sure looks bad.

A few days later the old horse came back to the barn and brought 7 wild horses with it. The son shut the gate and there were 8 horses. Someone asked the farmer is this good? The farmer said: IT APPEARS THIS IS VERY GOOD?

Later the farmer’s son decided they could break one of the wild horses to help do the work on the farm. This would help the old horse and they could do more. A neighbor asked: Hey old man this looks very good doesn’t it? The farmer said: I guess this sure looks good now.

As the young son was breaking the wild horse to help on the farm. The wild horse began bucking and jumping. The wild horse jumped into the fence and hurt the farmer’s son. The wild horse pressed the son’s leg into the fence and broke the son’s ankle and leg really terrible. The old farer said: I GUESS BY MY UNDERSTANDING THIS REALLY LOOKS BAD. THIS SET BACK WILL REALLY HURT OUR CROPS THIS YEAR. I guess this is really bad!

There was terrible war in the Kingdom. Many young men would lose their life. The King sent his conscription officers to force compulsory enlistment into the King’s army. When the officers saw the son was cripple from the wild horse accident they could not force the son into armed service.

WE CAN NOT ALWAYS UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOOD AND BAD AT THIS IMMEDIATE TIME. AT THIS TIME WHAT MAY SEEM BAD MIGHT NOT BE BAD. AT THIS TIME WHAT MAY SEEM GOOD MAY REALLY BE BAD. TIME WILL TELL WHICH IS TRUTH.

1. WRAP YOUR HEART AROUND THE FACTS THAT GOD LOVES YOU. GOD ABSOLUTLY LOVES YOU

1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

2. GOD MAKES US MORE THAN CONQUERORS BY HIS POWER.

Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

3. YOU ARE A TREASURE AND PRECIOUS TO GOD.

Jeremiah 1:4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

4. GOD’S PEOPLE ARE UNIQUE… ONE OF KIND, NOTHING ELSE LIKE,

Isaiah 64:8 (NIV) Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

5. GOD HAS A DESIGN TO PROSPER HIS PEOPLE. (SUCCEED, BLESS, GROW )

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
