In the beginning, Satan was an angel named Lucifer. Lucifer sinned and was cast out of Heaven. We next see him in the Garden of Eden as the serpent.

Job 1-2 reveals Satan’s limitations. Satan is not God’s equal opposite. Unlike God, Satan isn’t omnipresent (everywhere), omnipotent (all-powerful) or omniscient (all-knowing). This session’s focus: Satan is not omnipotent; he can only do what God allows. So why does God allow suffering?
