God’s kind of love … agape … doesn’t follow, it leads by example. It’s a verb. It acts. It leads our hearts. And it changes lives. It changes the life of the person acting in love and it changes the life of the person receiving the love.
Ever get caught in the “if only” trap? You probably have … probably caught in it even now … and don’t even realize it. The “if only” trap works like this: “If only they would rise off the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher …” “If only they wouldn’t leave their dirty socks lying ...read more

Contributed on Jan 16, 2022
It is the cross and the promise of a life after this one that makes this world, with all its ups and down, with all its sorrow, with all its conflicts and challenges all that much more bearable when we know that all of this is just temporary.
“There’s no place like home.” Who said it? Right … Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. Why is that line so iconic? Series: If God is For You … Sermon: Waiting on the Lord Scripture: James 5:7-11 [Hold up cell phone.] I think it’s safe to say that most, if not all of you, have one of these and I can also probably say that if you have one of these it has some kind of GPS on it. In fact, it’s pretty ...read more

6. Any Day Now
Contributed on Mar 6, 2022
Both Peter and Paul raise the same question: what should we be doing when … not ‘if’ but ‘when’ … the Lord appears? How do you want Him to find you? Vigilant? Full of hope and expectation? Prepared? Ready to greet Him? Or scoffing? Asleep?
[Hold up cell phone.] Yep … we talked a little bit about this handy device last week. More accurately, we talked about one of the apps … the GPS. But there is another little handy app that I use all the time to help me plan my day … The Weather Channel’s Ten Day Weather app which, as the name ...read more
