Grace - an illustration of the effect of grace.
By grace, Jesus took our place on the cross, enduring what he didn’t have to, so that we could have a relationship with our father. As an illustration of this, there is a scene in the Hugh Grant movie ’About A Boy’. Towards the end of the movie,

Grace At Bat
I read this week about a baseball game that one day took place. It seems that the Lord’s team was playing Satan’s team. The Lord’s team was at bat, the score was zero to zero, and it was in the bottom of the 9th inning with two outs. The Coach and the Lord stood by observing the game.

The boy stood defiantly. “Go ahead, give it to me.”
The principal looked at the young rebel and asked, “How many times have you been here?”
The child sneered rebelliously, “Apparently not enough.”
“And you have been punished each time?” the principal responded.

In Mike’s book he tells the story of Carl.
It was little league and Carl was at bat. It was the last inning, two outs the bases were loaded, and depending on how Carl did, it would decide the winner and the loser of the game...!
Carl came from a large family and they were there the mother and

Listen to this from R.C. Sproul:
“Perhaps the most difficult task for us to perform is to rely on God’s grace and God’s grace alone for our salvation. It is difficult for our pride to rest on grace. Grace is for other people—for beggars. We don’t want to live by a heavenly welfare system. We

Cheap grace is the grace we bestow on ourselves. Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, communion without confession. Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ,
If you want to learn the meaning of faith, get down to a child's level.
"What could this possibly be?" I thought to myself. "Why would someone place that sign so low? No one could read it." You see them everywhere. Small signs promoting yard sales, cars, and business

Grace or Permission?
You're worried about permissiveness—about the way the preaching of grace seems to say it's okay to do all kinds of terrible things as long as you just walk in afterward and take the free gift of God's forgiveness.
While you and I may be worried about seeming to give

Cinderella’s castle at Disneyland was packed with kids and parents. Suddenly - all the children rushed to one side. It’s a good thing it was a castle and not a boat, or it would have tipped over. The pristine princess had entered the room. Cinderella. A gorgeous young girl with

BROTHERS AND GRACE
There was a boy who did not have much athletic ability. Every time he and his friends would play some game, he was always the last to be chosen. One day two new fellows came to play with them and were allowed to be team captains because they were older. The first team

a). Cheap grace is the deadly enemy of our Church. We are fighting today for costly grace.
b). Cheap grace means grace as a doctrine, a principle, a system. It means forgiveness of sins proclaimed as a general truth, the love of God

ADOPTED BY GRACE
I have three daughters. Oh the cats that we took from the pound. They are in cat heaven! But they could have been left at the pound, except that we DECIDED to take them because we WANTED to love them. There was nothing those kittens could do to make me love them! Our
GRACE AND THE WATERFALL
Last week I went for a walk and I saw a beautiful rock under a small waterfall, it was continually cleansed. My friend found a rock, but his rock wasn't found under a waterfall, and it's not as pretty and as smooth.

THE DEFINITION OF GRACE
George Stansberry to a group of Bible college students: "If you leave this service today and see a needy person on the street and give him a dollar, that is unmerited favor. He did nothing to deserve it. But if you leave here and go to your car and find a man breaking
