EASTER: OPEN CASKET

I was speaking to a woman recently who told me the sad story of her daughter in-law who was killed in a car accident. She explained how she had been the one who was responsible for the identifying of her daughter in-law's body. When the time for the funeral came, the distraught mother of the lady who was killed wanted to have the casket open for a viewing at the funeral. But her daughter's body and especially her face had been badly injured in the accident. The sad truth was that her casket couldn't be open because it would further heighten the pain of the loved ones.

But when God bought His Son out of the grave, he wanted an open casket – he wanted the world to see what was inside the tomb!
