What Is Hell?
Contributed by Ruben Castro on Dec 16, 2008 (message contributor)
What is Hell?
Translation:
A survey by the Barna Group unveiled Americans' beliefs about hell.
• 39% percent believe that hell is a state of eternal separation from God's presence.
• 32% percent said it was a place of torment and real suffering, containing the souls of people after death.
• 13% percent believe that hell is just the symbol of some unknown bad outcome after death.
• 16% percent are not sure of the existence of hell, or said they did not believe in life beyond death.
What we see through these statistics is that most people believe in a place called hell, but their ideas are far from unanimous.
