The Cry of the Streets

If the streets could speak

What would they cry

I don’t have clothes without a tear

Do not pass me by

The other kids laugh at what I wear

Do not pass me by

I go to sleep hungry and no one shares

Do not pass me by

I wake up starving and no one cares

Do not pass me by

I was abused, just being a boy

Do not pass me by

I believed, to men I was only a toy

Do not pass me by

Why am I getting all the blame

Do not pass me by

My mother smoked and sniffed the same

Do not pass me by

I was molested, so my body I sell

Do not pass me by

My father told me not to tell

Do not pass me by

I was stripped, beaten and left for dead

Do not pass me by

I am homeless and want to be fed

Do not pass me by

I lost my job, I needed to provide

Do not pass me by

I am locked in this prison for me to hide
