As I Prepared For My Sunday Sermon And I ...
Contributed by Sermon Central on Dec 2, 2004 (message contributor)
As I prepared for my sunday sermon and I struggled with my own hardships and how to describe the security that we have in Christ, I began to observe the spider. Every week I would faithfully rid the house of cobwebs. And every week I would find more. And I felt in my heart that as Christains we should have the confidense of the spider. Of course I was taken aback but I decided to explore the possibility. The spider doesn’t cry or shrivel up into a corner just because I nock down all their creation. The tediously work every week to build their home without caring of what may or may not happen. Why? Because they have understood that their exsitance is not dependant on the the things that happen on the outside but rather what they have on the inside. Since their hatching they have been built with the necessary things to always be ale to rebuild their home because the materials they need are inside. In the same way the Bible says that "greater is He that is in you than he who is in the world." Since our rebirth into Christ we have been equipped with the necessary things to always be able to rebuild our home. Our subsinance doesn’t depend on the circumstance, the problem, the need, but rather on what we have inside. We can always rebuild regardless of the hardships in our lives, always. Our source of strenght is in Jesus Christ.
