About Richard
  • Education: Graduate of Johnson Bible College and presently studying for my Masters from Johnson Bible College.
  • Experience: THis is my second full time ministry, while in school I had two weekend ministries. Serving as associate at Sullivan Road Christian Church in Knoxville TN, and weekend minister at Tannersville Church of Christ in Tannersville, VA. I served as leader, youth sponsor at Lake Country Christian Church in Waterloo NY where I also worked in the Post Office for 17 years.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Feel free to contact me and make improvements. Use them as God leads, and may we together build the Kingdom of God.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Of the ones I heard it would have to be "God Still Moves Stones" done at homecoming at JBC.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: I have good news and bad news, the good news is we have everything we need for a successful ministry, to grow the church, to pay our bills, and expand our building. The bad news is each one of us is still holding back on our gifts to do so.
  • Family: My wife and I are married for 26 years. We have 3 sons, Richard our oldest is married and a minister in Vidor Texas. John, our middle son is a junior at Ball State (education/coaching) and Matt our youngest is a Sophomore at Paw Paw High School. You can contact me at rwhite45@frontiernet.net or rwhite45@hotmail.com
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They listen by tape and they are moved by them.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She is honest with me when I do bad, and when I do good. She is a good indicator of how I communicate.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Listen to the people, love them in all circumstances.
  • Books that have had an impact: 7 habits of Highly effective People by Steve Covey 21 Illrefutable laws of a leader by John Maxwell The Purpose Driven Church by Rick Warren WHen God builds a Church by Bob Russell
  • Hobbies: Hunting, baseball, basketball and going to Hancock Fitness Center. As well as watching sports.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: No matter what the circumstance, whatever the world deals us, God is able to deliver on all his promises. Remain faithful to God and in the end we will be rewarded.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: during one of my kids time sermons a little girl responded to one of my statements with "Well DUH"
  • What I want on my tombstone: He was a servant of Jesus and it showed
