And He Must Needs Go Through Samaria
Contributed by Kelvin Parks on May 2, 2026 (message contributor)
He didn't have to go through Samaria. The road was longer. The people were despised. No respectable rabbi would have taken that route. But the text says He MUST needs go through Samaria. Not could. Not should. MUST. Because there was a woman at a well who had been through five husbands and still came up empty. Jesus had an appointment with her destiny. He didn't wait for her to clean herself up. He sat down at her well. At noon. In the heat of the day. And He asked her for a drink. Sometimes God takes the road nobody else would take, just to get to you. John 4. Themes: Divine Appointment, Living Water, Sovereign Providence. Contributed by Sterling Franklin on Aug 7, 2011
Jabez' mother named him 'Sorrow,' but the LORD kept this man of prayer from experiencing it. We ought to pray faithfully to God, asking Him to help us in any weighty task and to bring about what is dear to our hearts and according to His will.
