[341]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM - WHEN OUR SAVIOUR COMES AGAIN
I believe in the Rapture. I believe Christians are caught up to meet the Lord. {{1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 “for the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord.”}}
One of the Rapture passages is in Revelation, this one – {{Revelation 4:1 “After these things I looked, and behold, A DOOR STANDING OPEN IN HEAVEN, and the first voice which I had heard like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me said, “COME UP HERE, and I will show you what must take place after these things.”}}
John was caught up in spirit so God could reveal to him, the events that were to take place on the earth after the “catching up” = Rapture. Those events are the Tribulation and begin in Revelation chapter 6. Revelation chapters 4 and 5 are the raptured Church in heaven in great worship.
Anyway what I really want to focus on are the words John heard when heaven opened. They are “Come up here”, and I really believe these are the very words the Lord will speak in His coming for the Church. “for the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a SHOUT.” That will be the shout of victory and power. Many wait eagerly for that event when we will be changed in an instant.
The second time John saw heaven opened is the Second Coming and that will be the greatest battle ever, a time of great judgement and death for God’s enemies. It is the Battle of Armageddon and that passage begins this way – {{Revelation 19:11 “I SAW HEAVEN OPENED and behold, a white horse, and He who sat upon it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.”}}
In the Rapture that’s coming we go to heaven with the Lord who comes in the twinkling of an eye, but in the Second Coming, we come back with the Lord from heaven as His Bride. Revelation 19.
The poem concentrates only on the Rapture, not the Second Coming.

WHEN OUR SAVIOUR COMES AGAIN
When the Saviour comes again,
“Come up here!” will be His call.
What a shout of victory!
Listen for that, one and all.
================
Come, Lord Jesus, for we wait
For that joyous, full return.
To His own the Victor comes.
For that coming, how we yearn.
================
Now Your saints are so despised;
Dismissed as cast off refuse.
However, He knows His own;
He soothes those who know abuse.
================
Lord, bring on that special day
When we rise up in the air -
Glorious beautiful time
With Jesus, beyond compare.
================
We love You, dear Lord Jesus
Because to the cross You went.
We were the unworthy ones
For whom Your whole life was spent.
