[307]. A Poem Message - This Poor, Sinful World – With God In Control
Contributed by Ron Ferguson on Mar 11, 2026 (message contributor)
[307]. A POEM MESSAGE - THIS POOR, SINFUL WORLD – WITH GOD IN CONTROL
God is in control. God always has the control and the whole of the universe one day will come together in the new heavens and the new earth and sin is gone forever.
The poem begins with what I see as a fact. If there was no God, all would be meaningless and chaotic. In fact nothing would ever have existed in the first place. John said it succinctly – {{John 1:3 “All things came into being by Him, and APART FROM HIM NOTHING came into being that has come into being.”}}
Fanciful notions of denial, which evolution is, magically have all things happening without a First Cause, without God. When you dismiss God you are just left with randomness and a meaningless existence.
Where did morality originate if there was no higher being than man himself? What is the purpose of it all?
It is a poor, sinful world, but God has control and man’s time must run its course. Inherent in that is that man’s sin must also run its course until God steps in to abolish sin for ever. {{Revelation 21:4-5 and He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall no longer be any death. There shall no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain. THE FIRST THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY. He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new,” and He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.”}}
God tolerates sin on the earth because it is in that arena men and women are being called out into the salvation of the cross. One line from the poem is this – “Man, isolated to himself, would soon self-destruct”. That is very true. The Lord holds the world in place, but if there was no God, man would have ended in war, chaos and barbarianism. Meaningless existence means a meaningless end.

THIS POOR, SINFUL WORLD – WITH GOD IN CONTROL
If there is no God and man came from evolution;
If there is no God and all is downward volution;
Then what hope has the world in its chaotic tailspin?
For there’s nothing to gain and there’s nothing to win.
The reason why people can not discern what’s ahead,
Is because of lies, and the agendas they are fed.
=============
The stark reality of division in the world,
Sees good on one side, and evil that Satan has hurled.
There are only two camps – those who are living in hope,
And those without light for the future, can only grope -
They grope in ignorance, because their minds are darkened.
To God’s call, often obscured, they have not harkened.
=============
Without God at the helm, the world would disintegrate.
We see the wickedness of Man. God they denigrate.
Man, isolated to himself, would soon self-destruct:
His nature – not any true decency can instruct,
For he is wild, irresolute, self-willed, and warlike,
Repulsive, dishonest, and opposed to what’s Godlike.
=============
The fact that God is in control, is the perfect stamp,
That life on earth continues, for God holds mankind’s clamp.
It’s the permissive will of God that oversees this;
That tolerates the sinfulness and vilest malice.
But soon the Lord will sort that out, as He takes control,
And across the earth, the fierce judgement of God will roll.
=============
That judgement is horrific, for it’s wrath against sin.
The great Tribulation, all men’s systems, will unpin.
Yet God’s in control, and not one step outside His will,
Can man or demon take, but in His presence, made still!
Not so for Christians, for they are in His loving hand;
Purchased by blood, the redeemed in His presence, will stand.
