[252]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – THE 21ST OF DECEMBER 2020
This poem bounces around a bit as we look at the long day, and the daylight, and THE LIGHT. The unending day of salvation also is considered.
The anchor is “the longest day” that starts with being saved, and is an everlasting day which will not, and can not ever end. Of course I hope you realise December 21st is the longest day of the year if you live in the Southern Hemisphere, and the shortest one if you are in the Northern hemisphere. I live in the Southern Hemisphere.
The second stanza speaks of working while there is light – {{John 9:4-5 “We must work the works of Him who sent Me AS LONG AS IT IS DAY. Night is coming when no man can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”}} The Lord faced demonic opposition which I termed “So it marshalled, and around the Light, swirled,” in the third stanza.
Because Jesus is the Light of the World (stanza 4) His followers are also the light of the world, but with the light of the reflected brightness of God. {{Matthew 5:14 “YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden”}}
The last three stanzas look at my “day of light” beginning with salvation and never ending. It has become my longest day.
Where there is day/light, there is also night/darkness and all human beings are in one or the other. This is the division – {{John 3:36 “He who believes in the Son has eternal life but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”}}
Salvation will begin your everlasting day! Do you want it?

THE 21ST OF DECEMBER 2020
December 21 has come again.
Today is the longest day of the year.
My place here receives its maximum light;
From dawn to sunset clarity is here.
========================
Soon night is coming when no man can work.
For God, we can toil while it is still day.
Take up the cause and spread the light in light,
For that light will begin to pass away.
========================
The Light of God is Jesus Christ the Lord.
He’s the Light who has come into the world.
The world loves its darkness and hates the light,
So it marshalled, and around the Light, swirled.
========================
Christ was triumphant; defeated the dark.
It could not overcome Him; had no claim
On Him! Light of the World victorious.
Jesus Christ the Lord lit salvation’s flame.
========================
The day streams light and the night is darkness.
My long day began with my salvation,
When the Spirit exposed my great lostness;
My unending day - crowned with elation.
========================
Everlasting love; everlasting light;
Everlasting glory; everlasting grace.
They will be just four delightful wonders,
Realised in heaven when I see His face.
========================
Today is the longest day of the year,
But my day with the Lord will never end,
The day of His presence will never cease,
For all that day, in His love, I will spend.

We are to be the light of God to this dark world. How? We're to lead morally, to point the way to God, to warn them of the dangers ahead, to serve, give, and sacrifice -- to show them the love of God. We will change the world one small kindness at a time.
