[164]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – JUST BEING IN CHRIST IS EVERYTHING
YES! YES! YES! Christ is everything. How this world is empty without the Lord at the centre. If God did not care for us and took steps to save us, we would be meaningless people on a meaningless ball spinning in space in a meaningless universe.
But it is not like that! God created the world (in fact the entire universe) and everything in, and on, and under it.
Having the Lord Jesus Christ is just everything for this life and the one to come. Have you ever listed the points that make you and God such a relationship, e.g. –
I am in the love of God.
Jesus saved me when I hopelessly could not do it.
God gives me joy with Him and other Christians.
I find the bible thrilling.
I look forward to the glory of heaven.
The poem shares my confidence, but spends time setting out the gospel message, for that is what the world needs. That is what I need, and you as well.
Just being in Christ is everything. I know I am saved and where I am going. Do you? For any not committed to Christ, please do not let the time slip away. Today can be the day of salvation for you.
{{Romans 6:11 “Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God IN CHRIST JESUS.”}}
{{Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are IN CHRIST JESUS.”}}
{{1 Corinthians 1:30 “but by His doing you are IN CHRIST JESUS who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption”}}
============================================================
JUST BEING IN CHRIST IS EVERYTHING
Those without Christ are people lost.
Darkness envelops; night arrives;
Fears will increase; the heart grows faint.
The unknown affects their lives.
====================
There is no need for that to be
For Christ will deliver from fear.
Don’t recede or neglect His call.
The word for you is true and clear.
====================
Can you face the troubles ahead
With strength that is your own, and frail?
Stronger they grow, day after day,
Like showers that have turned to hail.
====================
Turn to Jesus away from sin,
And come to Him in humble dress.
He will grant to you forgiveness -
Give you new life; clean up your mess.
====================
The strength of the Lord surrounds His;
It holds and supports forever.
Broken is the world and failing,
But the Lord’s support ends never.
====================
Delight eternal is for you
If in Christ your faith you will place;
If you surrender to His call,
And His forgiveness you embrace.
====================
Do you want to hear the Lord’s voice –
Good and faithful servant, “Well done.
Faithfully, you were on earth for Me;
With commitment, your race you won.”
====================
Reconciled, reconciled to God,
From whom we once were separated.
United now and justified,
We’re found in new life created.
====================
God’s desire is in our hearts
To be pursued through given grace.
Rise up in these difficult days.
Falter not in the troubled race.
====================
Alive, redeemed and sanctified,
So now my times are in His hands.
He alone is my Lord and Friend.
God’s word in strength and beauty stands.
