[156]. A Poem Message – Jesus Lord, Your Sacrifice Has Done Much (Easter)
Contributed by Ron Ferguson on Aug 7, 2025 (message contributor)
[156]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – JESUS LORD, YOUR SACRIFICE HAS DONE MUCH (Easter)
This poem concentrates on the sacrifice of Christ, making it applicable at Easter or the Lord’s Supper.
It deals with the Sin-bearer, the Lamb of God, the Man of sorrows and other points. It is essential that we always have the whole working of Christ before us, not just at Easter. That is why at the Passover feast Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper so the remembrance could be there. {{1 Corinthians 11:26 “for as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.”}}
It is my opinion that those who don’t seriously meditate on the Lamb of God in His substitutionary death, don’t appreciate enough what the Saviour has done for them. It is not one of our priorities. It IS OUR PRIORITY.
I trust this poem might help you in your understanding of the Lord’s death.
{{Philippians 2:8 “and being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”}}
{{Revelation 5:9 and they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals, for You were slain and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.”}}

JESUS LORD, YOUR SACRIFICE HAS DONE MUCH (Easter)
Beautiful Saviour, You wore the soldiers’ crown on Your head.
Precious Lamb of God, You once were sacrificed.
You wended the path to Calvary to become the Bread:
Bread of heaven, from crushed flour, the mighty Christ.
========================================
Many despised You at the cross from sinful, blackened hearts,
Understanding not why mighty God would die.
He who does not walk with God, then from His wisdom departs,
And communion, and reason, in the dust will lie.
========================================
Man of Sorrows, You were, but not recognised by the world.
Passover Lamb appointed for sorrows great,
But wickedness against the godly One was hotly hurled.
Meekly did the Shearers’ Lamb deal with that hate.
========================================
No one at the cross that day understood the transaction,
When the Righteous One became unrighteousness.
You, dear Lord, bore my sin on the cross with no retraction.
O, Lamb of God, You’ve become my preciousness.
========================================
Sacrificial Lamb, my Sin-bearer, and my Substitute,
You, O blesse´d Lord, right into death You loved me.
Your atoning blood, the New Covenant would institute,
Rescuing from hell, all those who are now free.
========================================
His body given for us, contorted under sin’s load,
Was my fault entirely, the reprobate one.
Love, so vast, married to grace, walked with Jesus on that road,
And I, once a reprobate, now God’s saved son.

Doors: Open Or Closed

The majority of the body of Christ believes that God opens doors (a "yes" answer to prayer) and closes doors (a "no" answer to prayer) in their lives. Does scripture support such a belief?
