Contributed by Rev. Randy Barker on Apr 3, 2025 (message contributor)
**Obituary for Marvin Barker Sr.**
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marvin Barker Sr., who was called to his eternal home on [date]. Born to Virgil Barker Sr. and Anna Barker, both of whom have preceded him in death, Marvin lived a life full of love, devotion, and faith. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Virgil Barker Jr.
Marvin was a loving husband to his beloved wife, Sharon Barker, and a devoted father to his sons, Marvin Barker Jr. and his wife Jody, and Rev. Randy Barker and his wife Rachelle. He leaves behind a legacy through his grandchildren: Jacob Barker and his wife Christine, Brandy Lewis and her husband Bird, Hali Williams and her husband Brandon, Justin Barker, and Jayson Barker, as well as his cherished great-grandchildren Colten, Dyson, Emma, and Trenton.
In addition to his immediate family, Marvin is survived by his loving sister, Treva, who continues to carry the family torch alongside him in spirit.
Marvin's life was a testament to his faith and the love he had for his family. His warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering devotion will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Marvin’s life will be held on [date] at [time], at [Church/Funeral Home], where friends and family can gather to honor his memory and find comfort in the promise of eternal life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to [charity/organization] in Marvin’s name, a cause close to his heart.
May God's peace and love be with Marvin as he rests in His eternal glory, and may the Holy Spirit comfort all who mourn his loss.
"For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands." - 2 Corinthians 5:1
Rest in peace, Marvin Barker Sr. You will forever be in our hearts until we meet again in God's kingdom.
