Embracing God's Grace
Contributed by Rev. Randy Barker on Apr 2, 2025 (message contributor)
Title: Embracing God's Grace: A Message of Hope from the Churches of Christ in Christian Union
Introduction:
Dear Friend,
We are delighted to share with you the message of God's grace and the transformative power of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In this gospel tract, we will explore the Wesleyan Arminian perspective as embraced by the Churches of Christ in Christian Union. Our desire is to bring hope, encouragement, and a deeper understanding of God's love for you.
Section 1: God's Amazing Grace
God's grace is a gift freely offered to all humanity. It is His unmerited favor, which we do not deserve but can receive through faith. The Bible tells us that "by grace you have been saved through faith" (Ephesians 2:8). God's grace is not limited to a select few but is available to every person, regardless of their past or present circumstances.
Section 2: The Power of Choice
Wesleyan Arminianism emphasizes the importance of free will. God has given each person the ability to make choices and decisions. This freedom allows us to respond to God's grace and accept His offer of salvation. We are not predestined to either accept or reject God; instead, we have the power to choose.
Section 3: The Call to Repentance
Repentance is a vital step in our journey towards God. It is the recognition of our need for a Savior and a turning away from our sinful ways. The Bible tells us that "God is patient... not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). God lovingly calls us to turn our hearts towards Him and experience His forgiveness and transformation.
Section 4: Salvation by Faith in Christ
Salvation is available to all through faith in Jesus Christ. We cannot earn our salvation through good works or personal merit. Instead, we receive God's gift of salvation by placing our faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Through His sacrificial death and victorious resurrection, Jesus offers forgiveness of sins and eternal life to all who believe in Him.
Section 5: Living a Transformed Life
Once we have received God's grace and salvation, our lives are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are called to live in obedience to God's Word, following the example of Jesus Christ. This transformation is an ongoing process as we grow in our relationship with God and strive to reflect His love and character in our daily lives.
Conclusion:
Dear friend, God's grace is available to you today. He longs to have a personal relationship with you and offer you forgiveness, hope, and eternal life. We invite you to respond to His grace by:
1. Acknowledging your need for a Savior and turning away from sin.
2. Placing your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
3. Seeking guidance and support from a local church community.
4. Allowing the Holy Spirit to transform your life and empower you to live for God's glory.
If you have any questions or would like to learn more, we encourage you to reach out to a local Churches of Christ in Christian Union congregation or connect with a Christian friend who can guide you on this journey.
Remember, God's grace is sufficient for you, and His love knows no bounds. May you experience the fullness of His grace and find true joy and peace in Him.
Blessings,
