BECOMING RICH REQUIRES HARD WORK

My Father in Heaven, forgive me, for sometimes I feel that You are unfair. Why is it that despite my efforts, I never seem to have as much wealth as others? I often feel disappointed and even angry, but I am thankful that to this day, I remain in Your care and protection. Thank You, Lord. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.

"If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat" (2 Thessalonians 3:10).

The first generation of humanity was one that struggled and worked tirelessly. They sought wealth day and night and were often very successful. The second generation, their children, if not properly taught, simply enjoyed the fruits of their parents' labor. Meanwhile, the third generation, their grandchildren, often squandered it all. May you not follow this path.

Many people, including children of God, live lives overly pampered by their parents. Whatever they want is given to them without any effort. A movie titled "The Ultimate Gift" tells the story of a wealthy grandfather who passed away. During the family meeting after his death, all his children and grandchildren gathered. The lawyer announced that the deceased had left no inheritance for them, causing anger and disappointment. However, the grandfather left a box and a letter for his grandson Jason.

The letter stated that Jason would inherit $1 billion but only after completing a series of tasks outlined by his grandfather through a video message. Jason was furious because he had to leave his comfort zone—once a wealthy heir accustomed to luxury—now forced to fly economy class, work hard, run out of money, have his credit cards blocked so he couldn't pay for meals at restaurants, lose his girlfriend, and even live among the homeless.

Despite these challenges, Jason followed his grandfather's instructions. The most difficult task was forming a true friendship during such times of hardship. How could someone with nothing left make a good friend? The movie depicts how Jason befriended a sick child of a widow, eventually leading to the child's death and Jason marrying the mother. In the end, Jason received his inheritance.

Father in Heaven, today I have learned an invaluable lesson: one will appreciate everything more when it is earned through hard work. I want to be grateful for having to work hard to achieve something—saving money, being frugal, and even working overtime—because the results will be so much more meaningful and bring great joy when enjoyed.
