God With Us
Contributed by Edward Hardee on Dec 2, 2024 (message contributor)
I started out by describing a song that I had been singing all week long. (I used Leaning on the Everlasting Arms but you can use any song). I spent about 5 - 7 minutes giving all the details of the song. The author, the beat, where it is used at, who sung the song, etc. I keep the title secret.
Finally, after what seemed to be overwhelming boring details (or intrigue), I said, "Maybe it is better if I let our music minister play it for you."
He played the song. The song is better understood by hearing it not just reading about it.
After playing the song, I said, "This is what it was like in the Old Testament." Trying to understand God was hard. There was very limited interaction. So, God decided the only way to connect with man so that man could understand Him would be to become man. Jesus is "God with Us".
He now walks with us and guides us.
