Run Your Race shows how silly it would be for someone to stop short of home in a game, but it is the same in our Christian life when we are not Christians all the time. We must realize the need to be active serving Christians 24/7 in our lives.

SUMMARY

In this video we see a game of softball going on. The player up to bat hits a really good ball to right field and the fielders in the outfield miss it and seem to not be able to throw it in. With all that the runner should have an easy inside the park home run. However, once he rounds third, he starts to get distracted and stops running hard. He makes phone calls, takes selfies, hits on girls in the stands, gets some water, does a victory dance, and really anything but what he needs to be doing. As he is doing all this the outfielders somehow finally get the ball in and they get home and the catcher tags Triston out before he touches home because he didn’t run all the way.

Silly right, but we want to relate this to Christians and running the race all the way through and how silly it is for us not to. It is important to run the race of Christianity all the way to the end just like a runner all the way to the end. Because when we don't that is when we get led astray and also when we get distracted and lose opportunities to witness to others. Also, we are promised rewards in heaven for running a good race from hearing well done to crowns in heaven. We also notice from the video he gets distracted by things and that is why he stops running. We as Christians also get distracted. Whether it is by money, phones, social media, friends, girlfriends, boyfriends, pride, and our sins we are distracted also and it is important for us to identify what distracts us from running our race fully. We also upon identifying what distracts us need to remove these distractions. Some things we don’t have to completely remove if we can switch from using it as a distraction to using it for God though, for instance a phone can be distracting but if used right can be a powerful tool for ministering to others.

Also in the video, we see Triston’s other teammates trying to get him run and the other fielders in the field trying to help each other as silly as they looked doing it. When we have teammates around that are willing to help us when distracted it can make running our race a lot easier, so find friends to be accountability partners to help keep you from being distracted or giving up. It is a lot easier to press on when you are not alone running because you want to keep up with the group running the same with Christians that are working together. It encourages us to keep going.
