How Are You Doing?
Contributed by Martin Spoelstra on Jul 2, 2021 (message contributor)
There's a story about a little girl who came home from school one day, and her mother met her at the door:
Hi! How was school today? How are you doing?
With the honesty of little people, the girl replied,
Oh, not so well, mommy. My tummy hurts!
Mothers know everything, and this mommy had the cure: "well, that's probably because you don't have anything in it. Let's find you something to eat." Sure enough, after a snack, the girl's tummy didn't ache anymore.
Mother had to go to the store for a few minutes and the little girl was left home with her sister. When the phone rang she answered it politely. It was the Minister. "Hello!" She said. "How are you today?"
"Well," he replied, "to tell you the truth, I've got a bit of a headache!" And before he could go any further, the young girl had him diagnosed: "My mommy says that's probably because you don't have anything in it!"
