About Tony
  • Education: Global University, Springfield Missouri/ Berean School
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I try to be as real as possible and cut to the core. We need to reach the lost for Jesus quickly - We need to be relevant but true to the inherrent and truefull Word of God in the Bible.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Anything by Pastor Donny Granberry
  • One of my favorite illustrations: Man walked by workers at construction site - asked worker what are you doing with that piece of concrete-- I’m shaping it down here so it will fit in up there. Shaping you down here so you can fit in up there!!!
  • Family: Kristie Vila ( wife ) , Colin ( son ) , Melody and Lyric ( Daughters).
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They are at every service. My Catholic mother has been worshiping with her hands up to Jesus!
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: I preach mostly in Spanish now , so she doesnt really understand them :) She likes it when i get excited , Likes my 3 point format and the way I use exegisis mainly - she really likes the way I am improving the craft. Great supporter
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: You are presenting your case before a grand jury. Give all details as accurately as possible and present your case as best as you can - Drop the bomb at the end and win the case!!!!! We are here to preach the Word, the whole Word and nothing but the Word.
  • Books that have had an impact: Vernon Mcgee Thru the Bible, Pulpit Commentary, Systematic Theology, John Maxwell
  • Hobbies: Sermon writing, Songwriting
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Everyone needs to let go of every single ounce of will in their lives and give it to God completely. Bound on earth - Bound in heaven, Loose on earth Loose in Heaven . Let it go and God can work on it. Hang on to it and He cant touch it no matter how bad you want Him to!
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: Knocked water glass over.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Chased after God - God finally turned around and Hugged Him
