About Stephen
  • Education: I have attended NAU in Flagstaff, AZ and Mid America Seminary in Memphis, TN. And have taken seminary courses via mail with Andersonville Baptist Seminary.
  • Experience: I am a Southern gospel, contemporary Christian, Worship song writer. I have a CD that has been published. Ministry wise, I have pastored churches in Casa Grande and Tucson AZ. I have planted churches in Memphis TN , Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico, and also Clarkdale AZ. I entered the ministry on November 22, 1985. I have been actively involved also as music director for several churches.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Book of Ephesians; Book of Luke
  • Family: I was married August 26, 1989. We have 4 kids. My wife’s name is Nidia Myrna. My Oldest Son is Samuel, he was born in 1992. Then Josue, he was bor in 1994. Then Deborah, she was born in 1996, and finally, Nathanael, he was born in 1998. We have lived in Douglas AZ, Nogales AZ, Casa Grande AZ, Grand Canyon AZ, Page AZ, Flagstaff AZ, Tucson AZ, Memphis TN, Jackson TN and now Cottonwood AZ.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: My wife said one time, "It made me dumb on one end and numb on the other." Also a member wrote me from back east and said he really enjoyed my suppository preaching.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Adrian Rogers told me "Preach nothing but the word"
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: The cross is the only thing I would preach about and Jesus, The only things worthy.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I could write a book. But I was preaching in Ephesians 6 and said, "Put on the whole armor of God to protect yourselves from the fiery farts of Satan." Then I translated the exact same in Spanish. Also during the Lord's Supper, I couldn't remember "Do this in remembrance of me."
