About Roger
  • Education: Although as a child I was not academically minded, after I left school I realised the importance of education. I studied hard and achieved success working in both The London Ambulance Service and The Metropolitan Police. I also obtained The Christian Studies Certificate from St. John's Theological College, Nottingham.
  • Experience: I have spoken at approximately 750 differnt churches worldwide. I have been involved in Men's Ministry, Beach Missions, Church Planting and Healing Ministry. Having worked both as an Ambulanceman (paramedic) and Police Officer in London's notorious East End I think I also know a lot about the real world!
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Although I have studied theology, I try to explain things simplistically with some humour without watering down the Gospel message.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: Too many to mention!
  • Family: I have been married to my wife Maggie for 43 years. Sadly we were not blessed with any Children but we have some wonderful nephews & nieces as well as many God Children.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: Both died before my ministry took off
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: Very honest but supportive
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Make sure people at the back can hear! Start with some humour or an illustration to get people on you side.
  • Books that have had an impact: If you want to walk on water you've got to get out of the boat. John Ortberg. The Case For Christ. Lee Strobel
  • Hobbies: Golf, Badminton, Watching football (soccer)
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Take your step of faith now before it's too late!
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: After speaking in front of a large congregation, my wife congratulated me but mentioned my zip on my trousers (pants) was unzipped!
  • What I want on my tombstone: Gone to claim my inheritance
