About Rich
  • Education: I have a B.S. degree from the University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio; and was enrolled in the Ashland Theological Seminary majoring in pastoral counseling. I have completed the three year curriculum of a church based Bible Institute.
  • Experience: I have been in vocational ministry since 2005. Before that, I served for over ten years as an operations, plant, and corporate manager.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I would sincerely enjoy any input that I can get.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: A Biblical Church History and Twelve Factors for Focused Bible Study by Jeff Adams of Kansas City Baptist Church.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: The two tick and no dog illustration. How couples will feed off each other and seek to meet each others needs, without realizing that God is our supply and the one who is able to fulfill.
  • Family: I have had a wonderful wife since 1996. God has blessed us with four incredible children: two amazing boys and two lovely girls.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They actually enjoy them.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She is incredibly encouraging.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Be yourself - don’t try to copy other people’s styles or personalities.
  • Books that have had an impact: I enjoyed The Book on Leadership by John McArther; in addition, the Purpose Driven Church by Rick Warren was also very eye-opening.
  • Hobbies: I enjoy volleyball, coaching, and outdoor activities.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Probably too much and take too long doing it.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: When asking the congregation how we are to develop more Faith, Hope, and Love - I asked them if we should go over here and make a little faith, and then go over there and make a little "love" - somewhat embarrassing, but it got quite a laugh.
  • What I want on my tombstone: He wasn’t perfect, but he loved God and tried to love people.
