• Experience: Have served in Spain for nearly 11 years as a missionary, 5 years in a church development role in a small rural town in the heart of Andalucia, and latterly as an Administrator for both the Spanish and the International ECMI teams.
• Comment to those looking at my sermons: I still have a lot to learn.
• Family: My wife is Martina, and at the time of writing (Nov 2006) we have been married for 17 years. Two daughters: Pippa (15) and Millie (13) One son: Stefan (8)
• What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: I need to modulate my voice more!
• Books that have had an impact: Knowing God by J Packer Desiring God by John Piper Almost everything by CS Lewis, especially Mere Christianity and the Narnia books Does God Believe in Atheists? by John Blanchard, one of the best apologetic tour de forces I have ever read.
• Hobbies: Football (which means soccer to us Brits!) Cricket, which has to be the greatest sport ever invented! Reading Films i.e., movies
• Something funny that happened while preaching: While we were on furlough in England last time, my children unfortunately had to endure the same 2 or 3 sermons several times on our travels, complete with the same illustrations and bits of humour that became increasingly unfunny to them. At the very last service on the last Sunday of our stay Stefan, then 5 years old, in the middle of my message buried his head in his hands and said out loud,"I can’t take any more of this!" I can’t say I blame him.
