About Michael
  • Education: I earned a Bachelors of Science in physics from Clemson University.
  • Experience: I am the president/host of the Senior Citizen Ministry at my church. We meet on the third Tuesday of the month. I welcome everyone there then spend approximately 15 minutes telling jokes. I also go with a friend of mine to minister to 6 elderly ladies in a local assisted living home. I read them the jokes I told at the Senior Citizen ministry a prior week then I deliver the message that God has laid on my hearts to give them.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Please feel free to use what I have shared in any of your sermons, messages, ministries, etc. The more people who hear the gospel the better!
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They have enjoyed them & been inspired. Because I am a traumatic brain injury survivor they never thought I'd be doing what I am now.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: The woman I was married to divorced me after I was injured.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Be relaxed & let God speak through you.
  • Books that have had an impact: The holy Bible, Purpose Driven Life (Rick Warren), I Pray for You on Friday (Phyllis Doslinger), The Secret Kingdom (Pat Robertson). In her book I Pray for You on Friday Mrs. Phyllis actually writes about my prayer-email ministry!
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Go out to the nations & spread the gospel to as many as possible!
  • What I want on my tombstone: He was a blessing to all!

I wrote this to give at the church evening Bible study the day after Election Day to show how Christians are called to pray for government leaders

Prayers for Leaders The last few months the political world has been all over the place in America. We’ve seen accusations made & heard so many promises that if we vote for a particular candidate, they will do this or that. Politics often reveals our selfish nature. We want what is best for ...read more

  • Holy Ghost -- Who Is He?

I wrote this message to share at the assisted living home a few days before Halloween. Because it was so close to Halloween I wrote the message about the one REAL Ghost, the Holy Ghost!

Holy Ghost – Who is He? When Halloween comes people gather together to tell spooky stories to scare the young ones. Parents tell the kids stories about ghosts & goblins. The ghost is also a good last-minute Halloween costume. Mom takes a white bedsheet & cuts or draws holes in it for the ...read more

I wrote this sermon to share at our senior ministry. I will also be sharing it at the assisted living home where I go to do ministry with residents.

We have many things to be proud of here in the South. We are kind & respectful, nature is beautiful, & we are proud of our heritage. Look how many Yankees want to move here after they retire. We want everyone to know they are welcome here in the South. We’ll help ‘em out any way we can. ...read more

I wrote this to be a devotional I share at a local assisted living home where our church goes to do ministry

Warn them that this devotional has a sad part but the sadness will illustrate the joy of God. We will start this time of study with what should be a simple question. Which one of you has lived your life without experiencing challenging times when you didn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel? ...read more

A Bible study for Father’s Day on the role of dads in the Christian home

The Father’s Place In The Home As a husband becomes a father, his responsibility to his wife becomes greater because it now reaches out to the new responsibilities created by the children born into the home. As the father, he becomes responsible not only for feeding & clothing them, but God ...read more
