About Kelly
  • Education: Kelly’s credentials include: An Honorary Doctorate Degree of Divinity from Concordia Thelogica Institute and Biblical studies, A Bachelors Degree of Practical Ministry from the Evangelical Protestant Church Seminary, and various courses throughout the Military.
  • Experience: Pastor Kelly honorably served in the United States Army for over twelve years. He began his military career as an Infantry Soldier with the 25th Infantry Division, 1-27 Wolfhounds, where he completed an initial three-year tour. During his service, Pastor Kelly sensed a clear calling to serve a higher authority—Jesus Christ—and transitioned into the role of Chaplain Assistant, continuing to serve both God and Country. As a Chaplain Assistant, Pastor Kelly served with the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii and later with the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas. His military service took him to numerous locations, including Hawaii, Haiti, Guam, Thailand, Japan, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, and Iraq, giving him a broad perspective on leadership, service, and ministry in diverse environments. Following his military service, Pastor Kelly answered God’s call to pastoral ministry, serving as Senior Pastor at Glen Elder Christian Church in Glen Elder, Kansas; Fertile Church of Christ in Fertile, Iowa; and Leon Christian Church in Leon, Kansas, before accepting the call to serve at Kapa‘a Missionary Church. Pastor Kelly holds an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Concordia Theologica Institute and Biblical Studies, a Bachelor’s Degree in Practical Ministry from the Evangelical Protestant Church Seminary, and has completed extensive leadership and ministry training through the United States Military. Pastor Kelly and his wife, Stacy, are the proud parents of eight children, four sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and nine grandchildren.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Feel Free to use my sermons, just let me know how they went for you and also how could I make them better.
  • Family: Kelly is married to Stacy and they have a grand total of 8 adult children: Jade, Brittany, Shelby, Shayla, Logan, Kagen, Hazen and Austin. Kelly and Stacy are also proud Grandparents to 9 grandchildren.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: As pastors we should preach with power and zeal. We need to sell Jesus to others and we need to be excited about Him. We should never present the gospel as lazy servants. After all, would you buy a car from someone that doesn’t excite you?
  • Hobbies: Kayaking, Hiking and anything that keeps me outside exploring.

  • Remember Me The Power, Purpose, And Promise Of Communion

    Contributed on Mar 3, 2026

Communion is not just something we do. It’s something that marks us. Yet if we’re honest, sometimes we treat it like a church routine. The Lord's Supper isn't just a quiet moment. A small cracker. A sip of juice. Then we move on. When Jesus instituted Communion, He wasn’t starting a ritual.

There are moments in life you never forget. The birth of a child. The day you said “I do.” The phone call that changed everything. Some moments mark you. Communion is not just something we do. It’s something that marks us. Yet if we’re honest, sometimes we treat it like a church routine. A quiet ...read more

  • Who's Really In Charge

    Contributed on Mar 3, 2026

To remind believers that while we honor earthly leaders, our ultimate hope, allegiance, and trust belong to God alone, who reigns sovereign over every nation, season, and authority.

Tomorrow is Presidents Day. A day when we pause to remember men who have sat in the most powerful office in our nation—men whose decisions moved markets, shaped wars, signed laws, and stirred strong emotions on both sides of the aisle. Some people loved them. Some people hated them. All of them ...read more

  • The Real St. Patrick "from Captive To Courageous"

    Contributed on Mar 3, 2026

Patrick’s story gives us snapshots — moments of pain, calling, forgiveness, obedience — and with each moment, we’re going to anchor it in God’s Word. Because the power is not in Patrick. The power is in the truth of Scripture that shaped him.

When most people hear “Saint Patrick,” they think: Shamrocks. Parades. Corned beef. Green everything. But Patrick was not about parties. He was about purpose. He was not Irish by birth. He was not lucky. He was not chasing comfort. He was a kidnapped teenager who became a missionary to the very ...read more

  • Real Faith Faith Under Fire

    Contributed on Mar 3, 2026

James assumes something about the Christian life that modern Christianity often avoids: Faith will be tested. The question is not, “Will you go through fire?” The question is, “Will your faith survive it?”

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you ...read more

  • Money Matters: "does Money Matter To God"?

    Contributed on Mar 3, 2026

When it comes to money, most think about getting it. Let us see the other side of money, giving it as the Scriptures teach us.

Does money matter? Now, before anyone tightens up or checks their wallet, let’s get something straight— this sermon isn’t about getting your money. It’s about understanding money. Because when it comes to money, most people only think about one thing: getting it. But Scripture shows us there’s ...read more

  • Prison Release

    Contributed on Feb 3, 2026

When a prison sentence is completed, the door open. Legally, the prisoner is free. But some inmates struggle to walk out because prison has trained them how to think, how to move, and how to live. The bars are gone, but the mindset remains. That’s a picture of many believers. Jesus paid the full ...read more

  • Heart Transplant

    Contributed on Feb 3, 2026

A heart transplant doesn’t make a sick heart healthier. It removes the failing heart completely and replaces it with a living one. After surgery, the patient doesn’t just act alive— they are alive. They don’t breathe because they’re disciplined. They breathe because they have a new source of life ...read more

  • Power Steering

    Contributed on Feb 3, 2026

Before power steering, turning a car was basically CrossFit. Two hands on the wheel. Face red. Whole body involved. You didn’t turn—you wrestled that thing like it owed you money. Then power steering came along. And suddenly a pinky finger could do what used to take a full upper-body workout. Same ...read more

  • Moonlight

    Contributed on Feb 3, 2026

The moon doesn’t produce light. It has no power source of its own. No battery. No glow stick taped to the back. It simply reflects the sun. That’s us. We don’t generate love through effort, emotion, or religious hustle. We reflect Christ’s love as we remain in Him. When we stay close, obedience ...read more

  • Being A Bystander

    Contributed on Mar 23, 2015

Some years ago we had some friends in our apartment complex that needed some help moving. Now, no one enjoys moving and everyone usually tries to avoid this type of labor if possible. But, these people needed some help so I volunteered myself and our oldest son Zane to help them move. We ...read more
