About James
  • Education: I have a B.S. from Clemson University. I received an MDiv. and Dmin. from Southern Seminary.
  • Experience: Worked on the Crusade staff for BGEA. Served two years as a Resort Missionary. And have pastored for over 18 years.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: All I want to be is an encouragement to my fellow pastors and preachers.
  • Family: My wife, Sarah, and I attended Southern Seminary together and graduated togeteher. Sarah leads our praise band at church and has written several Sunday school lessons for Group and will be published by lifeway for a skit in 2008. We enjoy our four wonderful children: Abbey, Emma, Lauren, and Josiah. Each brings their own personality and perspective before the Lord in their prayers. I am especially touched when my children pray for their friends to receive Christ.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They are not Christians. My mom received a lot of information. My father critiques the Bible in general.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Every Sermon should have at least one point!
  • Books that have had an impact: Besides the Bible, The imitation of Christ The Lord of the Rings 1776
  • Hobbies: Tennis. Currently NTRP 3.5 C. after getting back into it for 1 season.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I fainted and my people thought I was joking or trying to make a point before I fell over.
  • What I want on my tombstone: He loved God, his wife, and kids.
