About Germain
  • Education: I graduated from a private school, Eagle Academy, of the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, in which I had an awesome senior year. I have been married for 6 years and my wife and I are starting on our 6th year of serving as Youth pastors for Chosen Youth Ministries of Aposento Alto Church of San Juan.
  • Experience: I can’t say I have a lot of experience, but what I do have is what the Lord has given me the capability to have. After directing a very awesome drama team for two years, I can say that as small - average as that ministry was, the devil doesn’t keep himself from attacking, but there was always victory in the Lord. Until the Lord brought a new season to my life, I was soaking in all I could. Besides serving in major events in this area, I have the privilege to say that little by little the Lord is doing His perfect will in my life, just as the ones who surround me...
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: "If these sermons don’t minister to you, then praise God because they were meant to minister to someone else. If they do minister to you, bless His Name!
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: I remember when the Lord touched me at Trinity Worship Center during their first season of revival, in the Fall of 1999. I had accepted the invitation to attend that place because I wanted to have an opportunity to go out with this certain girl and the only way I got her to accept my invitation was for me to accept hers to that morning revival service. Little did I know that that beautiful Sunday morning the Holy Spirit was going to convict me and rekindle my love for God as I heard the message of: Before the soldiers were about to take Jesus away, Simon cut off one of the soldier's ears, but Jesus healed it instantly. The soldier didn’t have to go around showing people what they had done to him because the Lord had taken care of it in seconds. Evangelist John Davis, Embasador of the Brownsville Revival in Pensacola, Florida, was preaching that sermon that morning and when he said, "If you want the Lord to heal your "ear", meaning that, if you want Him to heal your broken heart; if you want Him to take away the pain, the suffering, the depression and oppression, and live in peace and in the light, come forth." When I heard him elaborate on it I wondered who had told him how I felt at that very moment, but I knew that I was the only one who knew how I felt. I couldn’t deny that it had to be God speaking to me through him and surrendered.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: One of my favorite illustrations is of a young boy who was caught stealing and sent to prison. During his time in there, his father claimed to have disowned him and would not answer any of the boy’s letters. After completing his years in prison, this young man sent a letter to his father stating that he would be out soon and that if he had forgiven him, for him to tie a white sheet to the tree in the corner of his backyard. If he hadn’t, he would never hear of his son again. When this young man was about to pass behind his father’s backyard, he did not only see one white sheet tied to the tree in the corner of his father’s backyard, but he saw many sheets covering the tree. He saw many sheets covering the backyard and many trees covering the fence. He could return to his house because he had been forgiven by his father.
  • Family: I have a 2 brothers and 2 sisters, my lovely mother.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: "Keep sharing what you got!"
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: "I got your back!"
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: "Always let the Holy Spirit speak..."
  • Books that have had an impact: Good Morning, Holy Spirit; Benny Hinn The Fire of His Holiness; Sergio Scataglini Moses, The Greatest Youth Pastor Ever; Richard Crisco
  • Hobbies: When it comes to hobbies such as entertainment with others or on my own, I like to play basketball, tennis and teach kids how to pass, punt, and kick a football. Sometimes I’ll even play volleyball, but I do have a passion to sing and play drums. One of the things I really enjoy and ask the Lord to use me mightily in is reaching lost teens. I really enjoy to spend time with my wife, going on dates and showing her my love, but nothing surpasses the times of praise, prayer and worship I get to spend with my God. Nothing surpasses the way I feel when I speak to Him and hear Him speaking back to me.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: "Nothing’s ever going to work for you unless you give yourself completely to God... Not 98%, not 99%, but 100%!"
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: In one particular occasion, I was trying to make a voice to give an illustration, but right at the moment, my voice cracked and made a terrible pitch that sounded like a chicken. That wasn’t so bad, but what was rather embarrassing was that there were three children in the crowd that got scared and began to cry!
  • What I want on my tombstone: There are friends that pretend to be friends, but there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother...
